Europe is banning porn

On the eleventh of march the European government will discus a bill that will ban all forms of porn in Europe. The bill is called Eliminating gender stereotypes in the EU.

What do you think about the chance that this bill passes?
Personally, i think that this bill will be send to the garbage can.

Reminds me about a bill in France (which I think passed) where it was hidden as an attack on gender roles.

A French person commented on a site that the bill was going to eliminate "Mother and Father" as choices and use "Parent 1 and Parent 2" to describe everyone.

Such a shame that European government officials are too stupid to actually ban porn. It's a form of freedom of speech.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think there is a bit more than just "gender stereotypes" for a reason.

This bill is stupid. Even if it gets banned, that won't stop anybody.

This probably won't go through anyway, too many of the EU countries have a lax view on "pornographic material".

The creators of this bill think that porn gives some women a negative self image and discriminates against them. If this was a real issue they should be spreading awareness, although I personally believe it's more oppressive and harmful to the women they're trying to protect by banning all porn and advertisement that can be considered porn, than banning something that makes a few uncomfortable.

This is what happens when you let a bunch of politically correct virgin faggots get political power.

That said, it's probably unlikely that this will pass, given that many EU countries have already pretty lax pornography laws, or are otherwise hosts to quite big sex industries. Will be waiting for the inevitable hilarity when that gets debated.

Even if it passes it will be one of those laws that nobody cares about and just plain ignores.

Also, if it passes, we'll see how quickly potential sex offenders will become real threat, because they can't wack their perversions away silently.

And no to mention there are some women trying to create more female friendly porn who would be harmed by such a bill(Also there is a possibility this will end up hurting the porn actresses/actors more than the people making it). I agree spreading awareness is a far more effective approach.
