I don't want to Necro Bump so I made this poll.
What's your favorite soccer team? Everyone must have one, I'm sure.
I just want to know what is your favorite.
And you can have more than one, if it's in different league that is.

[font=verdana][color=green]I can say with much confidence that Bayern Leverkusen will not get any votes. They're simply too unknown outside of Europe, and would only be supported by people within Germany.
I voted for Chelsea, although the title of this thread makes me want to die inside.

Yes, I know Bayern Leverkusen might not get any vote, but i just want to get a few teams from a different league, you know.
Hmmmm nice choice, then that means we're rivals, since I voted for Manchester United hahaha

None of the above. Although my favourite club has the same 3-letters as Bayern and Barcelona.
I dislike the AC Milan, but if they'd change their owner(A certain ex-president), I might change my mind.
No French(Lyon?) or Dutch(Ajax?) team on your list?

What is your favorite then?
Fair enough, I personally don't like Inter Milan's owner.
Nah man, I assume that not much people will vote for it (even though I made a mistake by putting Bayern Leverkusen in)

I wouldn't be surprised if I'm the only MLS fan here. TFC for life!
I don't live in Europe, so I really couldn't care less about their teams. I watch the games, but don't follow anyone.

The smallest "FCB" of the big 3, Basel. You have to like the underdogs.
Actually, did you know that the colours of the FC Barcelona were taken from Basel? Barcelona was established by a Swiss which was a Basel fan, and gave them the same colours.
Just look at their logos, and you'll see more similarities... ;)

Oh, it must have felt good to defeat Man United then hahaha.
But apparently I heard that Basel is gonna get penalised for transferring players hen the transfer window's closed.
I haven't read soccer news for a while

Oh yes it did. But I suffered shaking legs and a heartbeat like a steam hammer the last 30 minutes, thank you.
No no, you misunderstood. I can elaborate, but it would take longer.
It's not Basel but Sion who did it. AGAIN. Christian Constantin(Club owner, likes to throw out his coaches) never surrenders, but it might end in tears if he doesn't this time. Remember how Sion got kicked out in favour of Celtic Glasgow in the Europe League(even though Celtic totally sucked:P), because they had 6 players playing when they had a transfer ban(still). All because of the El Hadary transfer sometime back.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Sion
Let's see how that works out. Constantin, Blatter, they all seem to miss a screw somewhere;P
But other people can cause mayhem pretty much too. Look at Neuchatel XAMAX with their new owner Bulat Tschagajew. You could say it's a scandal what happens there. Does he have money, doesn't he? Is he illegal? Is he into some crude business? Nobody really knows, but if the bills don't get paid soon, Xamax might be suspended and even relegated because of that guy(Worse: Bankrupt)cy. The whole tradition of Xamax(Champion '87, '88), the sponsors, the fans, etc... all down the drain.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuch%C3%A2tel_Xamax
And Basel(playing 1/8 against Bayern München) and the Swiss Squad "The Nati"(playing a friendly against Argentina in 2012) could pay for their mistakes if the National Association doesn't penalise Sion properly. That means: All points scored with their banned players will be forfeited, the Association still tries to negotiate with the FIFA, only giving them a point penalty, like Xamax got for their financial trouble.
You never know what might happen...
Whoops, this got longer than I intended to...

Fair enough, I kind of have the grasp of what you're trying to say.
I mean, it's just stupid what Sion did.
I'm a Man United fan, and that loss is past for me, but IF Basel is penalised because of what happened then it's just unfair, even for me.
PS: Yeah, Celtic sucks -.-

Well, this is the first time a Swiss club reaches the 1/8 final IIRC, and it would leave a bad taste if they are denied these two games, Basel could lose some money which could be very useful to them(Isn't money nearly always useful?). Even though they've been playing Bayern last year in the group stage already.
I actually hoped Basel would meet Apoel or Arsenal, two clubs they never played against. The Galactics from Madrid would also have been a choice(of coach and players I think), but it would be even harder to get close to a sensation.
Even though they say they are quite a strong team, I think the Bayern can be beat... But yes, Basel's going to get beaten on a normal day.

I don't think you guys will stand a chance against Los Merengues and The Azulgrana.
Bayern? I would say 40% winning chance at most.
This is the first UCL in the last few seasons where there is one 2 clubs from English Premier League, I gotta say it's weird and cool at the same time

I never said they would:P The players will get stolen anyway soon, let's see how long a Shaqiri, Xhaka or Sommer stays.
I actually hoped Bayern would beat Inter back then, but it wasn't to be.
...and while Man City has suffered shipwreck with their "moneybag" strategy, "Chelski" has yet to win anything in Europe. I'm not betting on surprises though...
Merengues are delicious btw:P Oh wait, I meant Meringues(French)xD

Nah I was hoping Inter to win, I hate Bayern from the start, at 1/8 and 1/4 they always win by agreegate, fuck them!
Man City is not going to win anything for now, maybe in the future, yes.
Chelsea sucks, they chose the wrong coach.
LOL! Meringues are too sweet man

I prefer any club over Man United or as I like to call them... "Satans team".
My Grandad supported 'The Evil Ones' but ive always had a strong dislike for them. (Bordering on hatred)
Ive been loyal to and supported only one team in my life (Germany) but as for teams at club level I do have 'favourites' from each country and whenever im playing a football game I have a particular soft spot for Brondby.

Hahaha why do you hate Man United? I've seen plenty people seem to hate them and I just don't know why. Probably because we're always winning back then? :P

Ive got a few reasons, Not very good reasons but reasons none-the-less!
1) Its not that they are a winning team that I hate cause I like Barcelona its the arrogance of Man United that I dont like.
2) When I was in school everyone had their teams and it was all good. Some people supported Spurs, Some liked Liverpool, Man United, (But he was Kosher, A proper Man U supporter so I let that one slide) Arsenal, Leeds, Ipswich, Everton, Norwich, Cardiff and one EVEN liked Man City back when they were shit but I feel that Manchester United are especially tainted by bandwagon 'glory supporters'. A lot of people 'converted' to the "dark side" when the Red Devils started winning and experience of this disgusting event has always left a bad taste in my mouth so im always gonna be prejudiced against Man United supporters that arnt from Manchester! (Prawn sandwich eating cunts)
3) Im Welsh so this may surprise you but another reason I hate United is because of Ryan Giggs... Whenever Ryan put on a Wales jersey I never felt he truely wanted to be in it, His performances NEVER impressed me but OH~ Yes~ for Manchester he was brilliant. :( (He should've just played for England TBH, Im sure he'd have made an effort for them atleast)
4) Watched a 70's football match between Manchester and Ipswich once on tv. (Think it was part of a George Best special or something? Or a history of Man United/70's football... Whatever) Ok this is a bit unfair because 70s tactics were probably shit and they didnt know how to press properly but it just pissed me off when I saw it, Ipswich players simply WOULDN'T close down George Best or even ATTEMPT to tackle. (Fucking disgusting) Its like theres some sort of reverence towards Manchester United and people are intimidated by the "Satanic Forces" at work.
Georgey was dancing through the defence and I was like... TACKLE THE BASTARD!!! (Wheres a Ryan Shawcross when you need 'im?)
5) Not Manchester United orientated necessarily but do you remember the whole 'Madchester' shit that went on during the early 90's?
Spoiler:
Pretentious arthouse northern wankers! And all the other wannabe manc twats! I assosiate United with these Oy! Oy! CUNTS.
6) I just hate Manchester!
Spoiler:

Manchester United. I love them dearly, but I do wish I didn't support them sometimes. It's almost nice when we fuck up like we did in the CL; it lets other people have a pop while I vent about what needs changing. :p
When we play well, it's a joy to watch, but it can get a bit boring being as dominant as we are. That's not to mention the fact that our best players are cunts (Nani, Rooney), and the most likeable players don't get much game time (Berba, Owen, Fletch).
I've had a soft spot for Hertha Berlin ever since I visited the Olympiastadion, too. :) Hopefully they get on a bit better under their new manager.

Doesn't have to be though. Shaqiri has been linked to Hamburg, Manchester and whatnot, but he's still here.
Stocker got the interest of Werder Bremen, but injured himself before any transfer talks could happen.
Abraham had been linked with clubs from the Bundesliga and Primera Divison, but he's still here.
I heard Hamburg(Frank Arnesen mostly) wants Xhaka, but he's hardly been part of the team for long and should stay a little longer. Many players jump the ship too early, and then waste their football life on the bench at a big club.
