Fruity Loops Studio

I've been wondering if there was anyone else on Fakku that uses FL.

I myself have been using it for a little over a year now and I think I've got the hang of it.

If anyone would like some VSTs I'd be happy to provide them some! =]

EDIT: For those of you that don't know, Fruity Loops is a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) (AKA a music sequencer) that basically allows you to create your own songs. It's pretty simple and easy to use as compared to other DAWs.

i use fl studios also i cant say im the best at it but i use it from time to time n cool song i haven't went as far as making songs but i make beats and samples for when i DJ when i do make a song maybe ill post it on newgrounds also

What sample packs or VSTs do you use? =]

I myself use Nexus[size=10]2[/h], Vanguard, and z3ta. (I generally make techno-ish songs xD)

I tried to FL a few years ago and I could never really get the hang of it haha. I just listen to music now instead of trying to mess with it.

well for sample packs i have a little bit of every thing all the way from hip hop to metal and i use sound wave, nexus2, tone2, but i havent really got into vst downloads by the way i have fl studio 8 xxl

coooooooool thx but i use fl from time to time so i dont really need it im more into dj stuff theres no need im on virtual dj a lot

I downloaded it a year ago but I wasn't very good at it. My new netbook can't run it without skipping all over the place.

When you say "skipping all over the place" do you mean:

1. The audio skips making crackling sounds during playback
This can be fixed by dragging the buffer length slider all the way to the right and is located in the audio settings in the options tab

2. If FL itself is using up too much CPU
You can significantly decrease CPU usage by going to the tools tab>Macros then select Switch smart disable for all plugins. Or by recording a certain pattern into a wav file then importing that wav file and substituting it for the pattern. Or just by pressing F12 which closes all open windows in FL.

Oh, that definitely helped! It kept crackling during playback and it was so obnoxious, especially when I added more than three layers and had the kick and a form of bass going on. It was so frustrating. I'll try that after I re-install.

I remember when i used it (im not pro with music stuff) and made one stupid song with it D= well actually few lol, but only one that was actually somekind of song without samples D=

My cousin uses Reason.

well for me fl is for creating samples but im messing with it more now
