Its 2014, breakthroughs in science, technology and medicine are already within our grasp. What future advancements do you hope to experience or see in your lifetime?

-------------------------------------------------

For me, it would have to be neurological enhancements. It'd be nice to have a higher IQ, or at least an improvement on my creativity. I thought about reverse aging, but I don't really like the idea of living forever.

HOVERBOARDS!

Naw but seriously, I'd like to see how the whole "sentient AI" thing would work out. I know that's not within our grasp at the moment, but still a fun concept.

If I can finally get the monster girl I always wanted then I would have no regrets in life

Automatic shoe laces.

You know when a early 90's movie tries to depict the 2010+? Pretty much all of that.

Nike is releasing them in 2015. Hooray, we'll have a generation who won't know how to tie shoes.

Considering we got stem cell tech on its way, I'd like to see it really advance. Like completely healing a wound in like half an hour, health pack style. Something like that in homes for emergencies

Why not just entirely abandon the concept of shoe laces instead of making them automatic?

This right here. I travel all over the world at least 4 times a year, and while I love travelling, I am not a big fan of airplane rides. Especially when I have to go from South Korea/Japan to USA which takes 13-16 hours. On top of that, the airplane tickets are so expensive.

Umm... Teleportation isn't all that great, unless you mean for objects, seeing as it involves deconstructing (killing a living thing) and reconstructing them. The person would, be composed of the same material but be a copy of.

-As for me, water and/or clothing that, by themselves, cleans the person and dishes.
-Harddrives for brains to act as a secondary memory.
-The thing hawking has that allows him to type/surf the web through thought.
-2.5d
-More easily sustainable food sources and techniques.
-Shell's and uploadable consciousness.
-A lot of the things from Ghost in the Shell.
-The growth of independent A.I.
-Space ships, satellite colonies, colonization of mars.
-Confirmation of life beyond our rock.
-The end of Aid's viruses, among many other things too long to list.
-A cure for Alzheimer, Cancer, and other internal physical problems.
-A change of consensus for global well being.
-A plan, that is enacted, that reverse/mitigates Global Warming.

blah blah blah... I have a lot of hopes and expectations.

I really mean teleportation for humans there, well for anything actually. But now you got me thinking, what about some kind gateway that allow anything to transfer instantly from one point to another, will it be feasible? Or is it just impossible?

I'm surprised nobody has said this already but...
