@Nikon: I welcome this change, and this will also help the forums with less spam. Nowadays I don't venture much into Random because it's beginning to be full of crap, and the distinction between Random and Incoherent Babbling is drawing too thin. Again, this was somewhat the kind of thing I was pushing for before I disappeared for three months, and hopefully we should see a change.

Yes indeed times changed. But there's a problem.
Threads like this come about and people talk about all the change they'll make or wish to make. Sorta like when Gambler made that one thread about the "tension" on Fakku (or something along the lines). People commented on it, agreeing and all, but not too much seemed to change. And yeah, I think we all know Random kinda "went to hell", as of late. There were good threads in it, despite what people may think or fail to realize, but.. again, times changed.
I think the only way to fix things is if people actually follow the rules and don't forget what they read in threads like this, two seconds after making their post and leaving the thread. If people don't follow the rules and guidelines, maybe serious consequences should be put in place (that are enforced/acted upon). If not, things may continue to get worse.

I've been debating on whether or not I should say anything, mostly because I've barely been here over a month, but I'm entitled to an opinion nevertheless. Granted I haven't seen Random like it supposedly was before, but I don't see the big deal in it now. Sure there is a little bit of spam, but I don't think it is that bad.

I think post deletion is just an easy way out of warning/banning people. I think there need to be some firm rules, and they need to be enforced with more then a simple deletion of the offending post.
Warnings are the least that you could do. It might be asking a bit much of the mods, but without some enforcement, things will change for a week and become the same all over again.

Yeah keep posting in caps allowed otherwise uncle phil will never be the same again. And also the new rule for the random section is cool with me since I don't ever have to make 1 word posts the minimum for me would be 3 depending on what random thing I'm posting about.

BTW, if the rule already got implemented changing the topic title to "spam will no longer be tolerated" or "new rule regarding spam" or something, might give is a slightly bigger effect.

although i agree with most of the things you said HE i do think the difference between those earlier times (gamb's appeal) and this time is this will actually see mod enforcement as opposed to the others which were poster self imposed rules which were forgotten almost the instant they were agreed upon. I do support the idea, and hope with everything in my being that it goes well, but it's going to require quite a bit more work, from both posters and staff.
I'd suggest all those of us who do care and wish to see this rule enforced start reporting spam posts, anything you deem as spam, report it and the staff will promptly review it. Be prepared to find that what you determine to be spam may not be the same as what that staff member believes spam to be, but it will go a long way towards helping out Nikon and this idea. By the way, don't report things that have been posted in the past (before this thread was made) let's just start fresh from this point. I will be doing my part to alert the staff or anything i deem as spam, and I call on all those who love Fakku to do the same.
