Also, while they're treated exclusively as comic relief at first, they are eventually revealed to be some of the more balanced and level-headed characters.

Yes, however, while not as rare as the unattractive female, they are still hard to find, and you won't see them in numbers considered favorable. This is due to the very reason I've already stated. People don't like, so you rarely see it.
