Getting a better night's sleep
0
For the past 2 years or so I have not been able to ever get a good night's sleep, doesn't seem to matter how many hours i get (8-10 on average) I tend to always feel like a tired mess in the morning, waking up with cramps and headaches. Lets talk about what you gotta do to wake up not feeling like shit, it would be really helpful for me.

I rarely have this issue. Like...RARELY.
So I doubt I could help.
I guess stress would be something that would cause me to sleep like that. Constant worry, ya know.
Anything constantly making you anxious?

Can't say I feel like shit in the morning, but definitely groggy. For me, a nice shower in the morning perks me right up.
I hear coffee is a good pick me up to, but I don't drink coffee.

There could be a medical cause, so if you have any other worries as well it might be best to talk with your doctor.
Um, 8-10 hours average - wow... Maybe you sleep too long? But maybe its just me that sleeps to little...

Oh yeah, also, this.
If you sleep too long (usually 10 or more hours), you can feel pretty tired all day.
That's what usually happens with me, and now that I've changed my diet back to normal, I sleep like 8-12 hours again. While I was on the diet, I slept like 6-8 and felt great in the morning.
so your saying sleep less? this is new info for me

It might help. I'm the same way. If I sleep for 10+ hours, I feel like shit the rest of the day. I don't feel like doing anything. You might wanna try and see what happens....

I found it's single beds. I just can't settle in them.
I can only seem to sleep well in a double bed. I think it's the space.

I've been feeling like this ever since I got my new job a couple weeks ago. I work day shift now 8-4:30pm and I have to get up at 6:30am
I feel like no matter what time I go to bed I feel like crud in the morning. I usually will get a cappuccino at a gas station for like $1.50 and I feel better afterwards.
The only time I wake up feeling great is when I went to sleep on my own terms and wake up on my own terms. Or wake up and allow myself to fall back to sleep. That second wake up is awesome. Doesn't work when hitting snooze every 5 minutes though.

I'd say that you should try sleeping a bit less, and use that time to take a shower in the morning. Personally, I need to have a lot of time in the morning so that I don't have to hurry getting ready, or else I'll be kinda off the entire day. The last few years I've gotten used to waking up pretty early so that I have at least two hours in order to take my time showering, eating breakfast and planning out everything for the day.
Sure, that have meant getting up at like 5:30 when I haven't "needed" to get up before 7 in order to have time to do my shit, but I hate starting my day with running around like an idiot.
You could also just simply try and change up your pillows or something like that, sleeping in a weird position(even if you find it comfortable) can give you all sorts of health-issues.

If you don't mind me asking, what time do you hit the sack? I want to try this routine, see if it helps

Depends, right now my sleeping schedule is way off(It's soon 4 AM here now) due to me having quit my Uni and not starting work until next week. But when I were studying I usually went to bed around midnight, and woke up around 5:30-6:30 depending on when my classes started. But I try to get around six hours of sleep every night, but still having time to spare in the morning, sometimes I go to bed later and wake up later, sometimes the other way around, yeah, you get the idea.

Sounds a lot like me, but I do believe I have some type of medical condition related to it. I tend to sleep A LOT. I often sleep like ten hours or so a night, even when I was working forty hour weeks. Let me tell you, sleeping ten hours a night and working eight hour shifts really doesn't leave you with much time for anything else in the day.
That said, I always feel the best when I get no more than eight hours of sleep, but I'm one of those people that can have serious trouble getting out of bed, unless I have an actual reason like work or something.

For the most part yeah. Ofc I have the occasional morning when I just really don't feel like getting up, or just feel like crap, but they're rare, and I usually feel a lot better after taking a shower and eating a nice breakfast.
