So here's the deal, I have an ipod for no reason. It's a 16gb Ipod touch, that I never use for music.
The thing is I have 10 song on it, yes just 10 songs. Not 9 songs, not 11, not 167, 10.
So I want to start listening to music on the go and working out, but the thing is I don't know what??
So I ask the people of fakku to list me songs to help me out.
I listen to all, and yes all kinds of music. So just post your favorite songs or anything worth recommendation and I'll add them ipod. Thanks :D
All of you guys of fakku have been the greatest, you guys really are :D

Try...Never gonna give you up by Rick Astley(I think I spelled that right). This song is never gonna give you up.
Nah just kidding. You can if you want. I can't really recommend any since I tend to listen to any genre. But, I do like songs from Coldplay. Like Yellow, Viva la Vida and such.

I guess now would be the time to make that post, right? Well here goes.
(Seriously, prepare for a crapload of youtube links)
Since you liked the Dream Theater[/h] song I showed you, I recommend you listen to their other work.
This includes but is not limited to:
Octavarium, Systematic Chaos, Scenes from a Memory, Images and Words, A Change of Seasons, the rest of Black Clouds & Silver Linings.
In the Presence of Enemies, The Count of Tuscany, This Dying Soul, Strange Deja Vu, Panic Attack, Home, The Glass Prison, Dark Eternal Night, and Octavarium are "must listens". (About the Home video, there are none on Youtube of just the song itself so I had to get a FoF one)
You might recognize some passages in these songs. The thing is, parts of The Glass Prison, Repentance, The Root of All Evil, and This Dying Soul were used to create The Shattered Fortress.
Next band, Symphony X[/h].
I will say right now. The entire album of V: The New Mythology Suite is just a plain masterpiece. You must listen to it all from beginning to end (every song is connected to each other).
If you like the album, you can download it in either mp3 or flac format in my metal thread
Now that's just one album! Not to mention, pretty much every other album Symphony X has released is a masterpiece. Some other songs I like to listen to from them are:
Nevermore[/h]
Your first thought may be "What the hell is up with the singer", but it will grow on you if you dont hate it. Warrel Dane was an opera singer for several years, so that's why he has that style.
Other than that, Nevermore holds one of my favorite guitarists of a time, Jeff Loomis. Since he's in there, I can guarantee you almost every song will have insane solos and awesome riffs. Sometimes very heavy, sometimes very light and melodic, always awesome.
I recommend all of these songs from them (Especially Born, Precognition, Narcosynthesis, The Psalm of Lydia, and This Godless Endeavor):
And that brings me to Jeff Loomis[/h]. He released his own solo album, titles Zero Order Phase. I have also uploaded this to my metal thread. Ill post a few songs songs. 'Nuff said.
Btw: Devil Theory is my favorite of the album.
Now that we're on the subject of Instrumental solo albums, I have also uploaded John Petrucci[/h]'s solo album, Suspended Animation to my thread. Petrucci is quite possibly one of the cleanest guitarists I have ever heard, but fast enough to be recognized as a "good" guitarist. FYI: John Petrucci is the guitarist of Dream Theater.
Jaws of Life, Glasgow Kiss, Tunnel Vison, and Damage Control.
Now, for some ambient music? Well, I'm really not going to lie. I absolutely love the Metal Gear Solid soundtracks[/h], especially MGS2.
I would've uploaded all 4 to the site, but 1 and 2 were already uploaded, so I only uploaded 3 and 4 myself. (Actually I just realized something, the person who uploaded the MGS2 soundtrack didn't upload both discs. I will upload that ASAP.)
You can download the MGS1 soundtrack here.
Unfinished MGS2 soundtrack here
MGS3 and MGS4 OSTS here
Ill post some of my favorites off the MGS2 soundtrack, and my two favorites from MGS1.
I wouldnt be surprised if you dont like this too much, but for me, this is a major inducer of some nostalgia. Seriously, I fucking love Metal Gear Solid.
Ok, one person I think you simply MUST listen to is Devin Townsend[/h]. His solo album, Ziltoid the Omniscient is one of my favorite albums of all time. It's a 52 minute-long piece split up into about 11 songs. It's a story really, but I won't talk about that. Ill post a few songs out of it, they won't start from the beginning or be in order.
Part's of it are pretty soft, like Hyperdrive
Other songs are heavy, like Planet Smasher (music picks up at 1:20)
Others start heavy, and get softer, like By Your Command
Devin Townsend is an odd musician so I wouldn't be surprised if you don't like/prefer it.
If you want to start listening to some heavier stuff, I recommend the Finnish Melodic Death Metal band Mors Principium Est[/h]. I uploaded their entire discography (only 3 albums) in my metal thread.
Ill post my favorite songs from them, and let you decide.
Ill just mention one last thing. Video game music remixes. Saitama Saisyu Heiki[/h] has some awesome songs stylized towards metal (most of the time). I recommend you check out the thread I made with a lot of music he was involved with up for download. There aren't too many songs of his on Youtube. I uploaded 2 of them, myself.
Well, I think that's enough music for now, don't you?
I could recommend a lot of Death Metal bands to you, but Im not too sure if you like to listen to that or not. If you don't, just refer to my thread and this list in the spoiler for the artists I listen to.
This is everything on my ipod. I have 7251 songs, and over 200 artists. Not all are metal, some genres are extremely different from one another so if there's one you'd like, Ill try to help you find some others like it.

Well catfish pretty much covered 75 percent of what I would have suggested.
If you like female singers and metal, I'de suggest trying out Symphonic Metal.
My personal favorite being Epica(which includes a female vocalist and a death metal male vocalist)
I also suggest the album "The Human Equation" by Ayreon, its a progressive metal concept album that features the leader singer of Dream Theater, among others on vocals.

Well, I didn't start this thread for no reason.
Protip: Electric Wizard sounds best on a good stereo, since the low end dominates everything. Doesn't sound as good on headphones IMO.

Hmm, while I won't bother with the detail Catfish put into his post, I will list some bands I like, you decide whether to listen to them or not. I'll put the band name, then the genre, and then a song you should listen to for a good idea of the band. Bolded bands are ones I really recommend.

One of the greatest bands and front men to ever walk this Earth.
Freddie Mercury and Queen. (Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Don't Stop Me Now, We Will Rock You, Another One Bites the Dust.)
I also recommend,
Iron Maiden - Defined the genre of 'metal'.
Deep Purple - Old classic rock 'n' roll band, one of the greats.
Smashing Pumpkins - Rock, can be compared to the Foo Fighters, though i like this band better.
Nirvana - Rock, one of the best with lead man Kurt Cobain
Pendulum - Drum and Bass, the best D&B band out there.
Oh btw quadratic. System of a Down isn't metal, its alternative rock.

facepalm and Shia's mainstream c/rap. (except for Eminem)
If your going to talk rap, at least talk about some actual 'good' rap.
N.W.A with legendary rappers like Ice Cube, Dr Dre and Eazy-E (Niggerz with Attitude)
Wu Tang Clan.
Beastie Boys. - more alternative rap (includes instruments but still "beasting")
Dre & Snoop Dogg - Can't get more legendary than these two rappers.
Eazy-E, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, Ice Cube, Wu Tang Clan, Beastie Boys. This is what i call awesome true oldskool gangsta rap. Nothing funny about good music eh?

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
Alrighty, I'll toss a few up.
Nile (Technical Death Metal)
Scar Symmetry (Melodic Death Metal)
Continue in that fashion. I could toss up more, but chances are you won't even like these.

Would be nice if Gugu could tell us what kind of music he likes best so far.
No use in recommending stuff he won't listen to anyway...
btw, gave Electric Wizard a listen yet Gugu?

Well I guess Ill recommend some death metal now that it has been.
If you're going to listen to Nile, Id say start on their groovier stuff first. Those Whom the Gods Detest is a good album (Hittite Dung Incantation is godlike), but isn't their best imo. Those Whom the Gods Detest is in my thread.
Next band Id say to listen to is Behemoth. Holy shit man. Zbigniew Robert Prominski is a fucking machine (Not to say Kollias isnt, either). Just know that every song on their last 3 albums have fucking insane drumming. I've uploaded Evangelion to my thread.
Ill start off with possibly their most famous song.
The Faceless. They may only have 2 albums, but god damn they are good. I like the first a lot more, Ive also uploaded them to my thread.
Just go to my thread and listen to the previews. An Autopsy is just plain awesome.
You know, just go to my thread. I'd recommend everything in there.
Decapitated is a great band, but so is Vader. Vader has been around for over 20 years and still putting out good music.
Other bands I would check out are:
Aeon (LucifeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR)
The Black Dahlia Murder
Burning the Masses
Dimmu Borgir (Symphonic Black Metal)
Hate Eternal
If you liked Fleshgod Apocalypse from my thread, youll like Hour of Penance.
Necrophagist for just pure, guitar mastery. Muhammed Suicmez is a god. He also sounds like the Cookie Monster.
Veil of Maya
Vital Remains (You may recognize the first song from the "Death Metal dog" video)
You may not like it now, but it grows on you. Trust me.
Im sure there's something he doesnt prefer, but whatever.
