I hate long distance relationships, hardly do they ever work out, unless both people are willing to sacrifice a little bit of personal life, and attempt to meet each other once in a while. If the girl/guy tells you that you have to visit first, to me, it feels like it's not worth the time. No one should tell me when to go visit or if I should be the first one to spend money to go see.

I've actually been in a couple long distance relationships and most of them have failed miserably.
However, the last long distance relationship lasted for about 6 months before it became a non long distance relationship and we've been living together for 3 and a half years now. We actually just celebrated our 4 year anniversary this Halloween.

I haven't, but I had a thing with a guy that I met online years ago. It was more of a flirtationship, that led to telling each other that we love one another, and him planning to take a vacation to where I live for the summer. I didn't mean for it to get that far, and after talking about how things wouldn't work out (there's a questionable age difference, we wouldn't be able to see each other often), we just stopped talking in general. I haven't heard from him in nearly a month, but it's probably for the best.

Was in a normal relationship for 2 years - the third and final year was spent as a long distance relationship - I don't blame the distance though, I'm sure it was a contributing factor but I had been deluding myself the whole time giving her the benefit of the doubt, thinking I could change certain personality traits .. yeah I don't blame the distance at all I see no reason why 2 people, if they're committed to each other can't pull off a long distance relationship.

I was in one... my most recent one, actually. Was engaged to my best friend and the most wonderful woman in the world until this last July :'(. We didn't really have any issues, though when she would stay with me for months at a time she would ignore me for Facebook games and get on to me for watching anime and slowly I lost myself and what I was. Don't get me wrong, I'd never regret the experience and would certainly take my fiance back if she asked for me back, but I respect her decision as we are both in college and need to focus on our futures, not each other.

been in several long distance relationships... one of the lasted almost 2 years... though i prefer close to home relationships and im one right now been almost a year and as a result i have my beautiful baby boy

yes and no. the only relationship i've been in was over video...and she lived in Norway... But yea i guess i would be up for a real relationship....someone not in a different country.
