My girlfriend and I have been in a long distance relationship for 6 years. Texting, Online chats and phone calls is what we have. I live about 3 hours away from her so we meet once every month on the weekends.
We do have long term goals, but our separate lives are keeping us apart.
Even so, we will still fight to be together.

Well It Kind of worked, but I couldnt see her that much(cause the distance and stuff).. But then I cheated on her, I felt guilty and we broke up. We are still Close friends tough

Beem in one, over an MMO, things were going pretty swell for a month until her double personality came into play, thisgs went downhill from there, I find it pretty funny now, for some reason. I can say I once dated a psycho, but am still alive 3 years later :D
I guess I'll just stick to my "2D women are better because they don't bother you when you're busy" way of thinking, I've been happy with it so far.
Also, for years now I've been of similar opinion to stone_face, real relationships just don't seem worth it. I'd rather live them through the eyes of fiction. ALL HAIL FAKKU!!

My boyfriend and I live 1400 miles apart, and have since we began our relationship over a year ago. But we're still going strong, and I love him more and more every day~ :) People, believe! It CAN work~ <3

I was in one, once, some years ago. Actually we lived close to each other, but she and her family had to move about 700 miles away. I tried to keep the relationship alive, but we broke up 3 months later due to her jealousy and some other issues that showed up.

Long distant relationships work if they can surpass the 3 to 6 month margin according to my intimate relationship class at the U.
Also I'm in a LDR myself and we have been together for about 5 years now. He is out here where I live which is the hard part but the transition wasn't that bad but for most is a huge commitment forward.
Also a good chunk of successful relationship long distance compared to proximal relationship is that you get to appreciate each other more and communication is better since you basically can't pull a cold shoulder in room when the relationship is largely written or over the webcam.
Just from my own experience and studies of course. :D

I have, and it didn't work out. But it was a good relationship. We knew each other for a while and decided to give it a try since her and her family moved far away. It lasted for six months, but eventually that longing wears you down.

I have... the reason it didn't work out was because of some ass who decided it was safe to make up stories about me after I left and the boy I was going out with believed him... I do miss those days, some of the most irritating but comforting. you know what I mean?
