Hayao Miyazaki retires

He was an animator who hand-drew all of his movies. He's made movies like Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Koro's Big Day Out and The Wind Rises.

He and his crew (I'm not sure if he had assistance, but it seems most likely) drew all of the movies by hand, frame by frame.
They were also amazing to watch with great stories.

Plz no, the manga should be left alone.
His God Warrior short was neat, I give him that, but Nausicaa is not overall a "monster movie" type material like Anno would spin it.

Besides, the first movie mashed so many book elements into a smaller time scale anyhow, it would not make any sense to restart it: shit got fixed.

I agree with you, I'm not a fan of his son's work. I mean, I know he had a lot to live up to with the legacy of his father and all, but he has so much more to learn.
