Curious and Wondering
The last time I nearly had a heart attack was in college... I was in my senior year, last semester. All that stood between me repeating a class in July and graduating that April was my Automata Theory class, which I failed.
But all students who failed that subject are given a chance to be given the bare minimum passing grade of 60, and that is by the way of taking three straight Automata exams of 50 points each, a passing score of 35 for each test. Pass all three and you pass the course.
I then took the exam, along with 27 other students who failed that subject. I took the exam on the same day I found out that I failed the subject, so I had minimal time to review. I had to rely on stock knowledge and quadruple-checking every item to ensure a correct answer.
2 days after that, our Automata professor gathered each of us in the red list in the same testing room, and he was holding our test papers. He told us with a stern face that none of us passed. My heart sank deeply - my thoughts were racing with various thoughts, I was utterly devastated.
...
Then he walked down the room, got in front of me and said "... except you." and handed me three papers with "PASS" stamped on each of them.
I literally fell out of my chair. My heart is beating so fast due to happiness I thought I will die on the spot.
