Help? ^_^

So heres the problem, theres this really cute guy that i work with, he likes just about everything I like. He is a furry, he likes anime, music, all that good stuff. But heres the conflict I think he is straight, its kind of hard to tell in my line of work, we all act really gay, so its hard to tell what your true preference is. Myself am bi. Him I'm not sure. What should I do? Should i just go up to him and ask if he is gay? Should I assume he is straight and just push myself away? What should I do? ^_^

better to ask the person directly.
it's that simple no need to wrack your brains about it...
ps; i think this belongs in LRR

do you think he easily gets offended?
most guys I know who was asked that question, they just said 'no' they're not and proceeds to either still stay friends (but with a little caution), or avoid them altogether.
only one or two guys got mad(and punched the person who asked him, sorry I had to bring that up)

Just start a conversation about celebrities. Work in cute females and males, and just gauge his responses and determine if you should just ask him outright or not.

Well they only thing im worried about is im in the Navy, and a place where everyone knows everything about everybody. So if i asked, even me asking would get out there :p

Rather then asking if he's gay, maybe just ask if he's into dudes, it doesn't have to be direct, but I'm sure you could figure out how to shoe horn it in the conversation.

ok! I take back what I said in asking him directly, because asking the guy outright kinda puts both of you in the spotlight and be future targets of ridicule(unless you're both M's)
an indirect approach is the ideal route
take your time to get to know him and try to moderately introduce some gay and bi tones in your conversations and get-togethers. since you said all of you act as gays sometimes. good timing to ask the question is what you are looking for...
try the suggestions given by the others above...
(this is one of the times I think we need freaky's enlightening words)

"Hey, I need to get something off my chest. I'm kind of into you, as more than friends, so I was just curious if there's any possibility you might reciprocate these feelings. If not, I totally understand and hope we can still be friends."

hmm.. why not just ask does he have any girlfriends or does he have any girl his intrested.. if your lucky.. he might say "no Im gay"...

honestly if you talk with him and be completely honest, you wouldn't have to go all these round abouts, if he is a furry I honestly doubt he will attack you if you ask him his interests

Just ask. Don't be overly blunt about it, but don't beat around the bush either. Just keep it simple.

Here are a few ways of going about it indirectly
1. Ask him what his favorite Madonna album is. If his answer is anything but "I've never heard one" he's gay
2. Offer him a tray of snack cakes, one side being these https://i.imgur.com/ljwhV.jpg
The other side being these - https://i.imgur.com/d8VKC.jpg
if he chooses the latter, he's gay
Ahh seriously though hope everything works out great between you two ^_^

If you're serious, I find this profoundly offensive.
If you're not serious, why did you post in a forum that requires actual insight?
On-Topic: Ask him if he has a girlfriend. If he says no, Ask him if he's been having women trouble. A typical straight guy will find this pretty inoffensive, casual banter. A gay guy will probably, if nothing else, laugh at the 'women trouble' question, because .. well, gay guys certainly don't have women trouble, you know?

Something tells me he's joking, considering that the first play is a Family Guy reference.

This is one of the hardest questions to articulate and I can't say that I've personally been very good at asking it myself. I was however asked recently at work and the way the guy went about it was actually pretty flattering. He said, "So, I've got a question to ask and I don't want to offend you" to preface. (At first I thought he was going to ask what most people do, the typical, "do you really not believe in God?" As I frequently get that living in a bible-heavy town) He continued on though saying, "I think you're pretty good looking and you seem nice, so do you, uh, like guys?" He then apologized for the awkwardness of the question and began to able about before I gave my response that I was currently in a straight relationship at the moment, but I thanked him for the compliment and secretly patted myself on the back for altogether avoiding the question.
Moral of the story though, being direct isn't a bad approach and, with the exception of me, it provides a conclusive answer.
Not sure if that helped, but I thought it might.

I hope you're not seriously asking him to go off a single laugh.....Do you realize how badly that could go? Frankly I'm offended by the incomplete thought that you posted here.
On another note, Where the fuck are these supposed updates.
