When we were first together, we just sat in his room and played video games, which is all I need to be happy. The closest thing to going out we did was thanksgiving with my family. There really aren't very many good movies in theaters anymore, and if there are it's not worth the money to go. We go to midnight releases for video games sometimes though.. Only time we go shopping is for groceries or games.Oh my god where have you been all my life-I mean, what?!
Ahh haa! I see, I see now. I find that pretty damn awesome, actually, and I consider you, and especially your husband, pretty damn lucky. So I congratulate you two for making it work out!
Dating can be a lot of fun but at the same time a horrible experience because if you're like me, you get your hopes up a lot, only to be let down and you're never sure where the dating is going to truly end up. I honestly hate not knowing that stuff. Though I can be quite patient, and patience is something dating does require in large quantities.
Yeah I don't really think I ever actually dated much, maybe making out in the back of a movie theater with a "boyfriend" in high school.. hardly romantic. Never been asked to dinner.. I've been told I'm intimidating. And I think I'd have said no to a romantic date anyways way too painfully awkward. I have video games to play, dating is overrated and a waste of time, of course that's probably why I ended up marrying a man who is romance retarded and would rather play battlefield 3 than have sex with his wife. Ah well.. I put such little effort in, I got what I paid for. I will mention though, there are times I wish for a little romance, maybe just for the passionate sex.. even if a girl says she doesn't want it, still try once in a while.. don't be like my dear sweet, but dense, husband.. I'm a lonely woman sometimes.

Hmmm, very interesting stuff :)
The whole video game time thing I'm finding I did in college with Final Fantasy XI. I absolutely love video games, and anime of course, and want to consume more. It's just that, for myself, if an opportunity arises to hang out with friends, even if we're doing nerd things, or a date, I'm going to put those as a priority.

Yeah, friends are a priority when they don't nag me for playing video games, as a girl, there aren't a lot of friends who were into what I was, so instead of getting drunk and arrested, I ditched them to play video games. When it came to dating, guys are either too scared to talk to me or too clingy and nervous to just be themselves. I would rather play video games, then make boys cry, and yes. They cried. A lot.

Oh god, I remember reading some posts here by you and I must say that you and your bf/husband sound exactly like me and my bf D:
We didnt really date at any point, we met online and the first time we spend time together was at my place (i lived at my parents back then) when he came to stay over for the weekend. And then week after that I stayed at his place for the weekend and thats how we spent the 3 first years of our relationship. We just sat inside playing games, watching movies and just lieing on the bed (and my bf spent quite alot of that time playing WoW..)
And now we've lived together for 4 years and we still do pretty much the same things. We dont go out much, because theres nothing interesting out there. We have probably been to movies for 5 times during these 7 years and if we do something special, its ALWAYS me who suggests it and plans what we'll do.
But I must say this: I know how you feel girl, you're not alone.
And as for the original question by OP all I can say is dunnolol D: But I can say that it really depends on what your relationship was with the girl before the first date. Because if you didnt know each other almost at all before the date, then it'll take longer time before you can say you're in a relationship. But if you've been friends for longer and know each other well already, then you dont really have to wait that long imo.
But other than that I acnt really say anything, because I've never done any proper dating :/

dating is just a way of getting to know him/her although you can date and can get to know them without going out. Idk how my friend did that for 2 years... If both sides confirm mutual feelings for each other then congrats.
Whenever I go out on dates it's fun but when we both try to plan a place to go we got no idea where we wanna go to sometimes and its a pain. And when we still couldn't decide where to go we just go to the mall or somewhere else peaceful.

You can go on as many dates as you like, they mean nothing. You are considered her boyfriend once you ask her out or she does and both agree with those terms.Quoted for truth.
