I just felt it was bland as hell, and not interesting at all =/
If people want an awesome awesome semi-new horror flick i'd rather recommend them something like The Mist, cuz that movie is awesome.

Another favorite of mine is "Shutter", a Thai horror movie~ Masterpiece~ <3
[font=Tahoma][color=olive]You can also try watching "A Tale of Two Sisters" from Korea~
(If you decided to watch this, you must watch it carefully because every scene is significant and symbolizes something. I've heard a lot of people complain that they didn't understand the story~ But trust me, the movie is scary and beautiful~ <3)

Child of Samael
The midnight meat train is something you watch for the sheer gore and horror factor not the plot... it was shit, But that chick vs the hammer scene... magical.

I've never liked ghost movies. They tend to bore me and I find it hard to be intimidated by a little girl that keeps fucking with my peripheral vision.
Dawn of the Dead. Now THAT is a movie worth watching, owning, and loving. I don't mean the remake, but the original '78 Romero masterpiece. Don't get me wrong, If you were to ask me which zombie I'd be more afraid of, it'll be the ones that can run faster than a crack-head marathon runner. Past all of the political and social criticism, the movie itself just feels right. The plot was more or less well thought out, and the characters aren't complete idiots that don't know the right way to put on their pants.
What pisses me off the most about current zombie movies is that there are characters that do obviously stupid things and whose death you can spot coming a mile away. For instance, Diary of the Dead had some of the dumbest characters that I've ever seen. So much so, that I actually WANTED them to die. Not what I'd call successful story writing, if you ask me.

Agree'd. Shitloads of zombie movies have been coming out lately but good ones are becoming a lost art. Though, I did quite like 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later.

Though, I did quite like 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. The 28 Days/Weeks movies are great movies in general, but you'll find a lot of people who'd refuse to acknowledge them as zombies as the infected are technically still alive. That said, Zombieland and The Walking Dead show are probably two of the best things to happen to traditional zombies in recent movies/TV.

Yeah, thats true, but you're right they're great movies nonetheless. Also, Zombieland was -awesome-, but I've only gotten to see the first episode of The Walking Dead so far. I really need to get on that and watch more.
Speaking of great zombie flicks. Dead Alive (or Brain Dead depending on where you're from) is an -awesome- B zombie flick with loads and loads of blood. Must watch.

Ahh, the great early works of Peter Jackson. The ass kicking priest and the lawnmower scene both prompted me to buy the DVD off of amazon a year ago.

I might get some flack for this, but i didn't care for the original Dawn of the Dead movie at all.. In fact i thought it was kinda boring, boring as shit compared to the remake actually (which was the reason i checked out the original).
The zombies just didn't feel threatning at all, they were running around throwing pies at them for god's sake.. and they looked like shit.
Maybe i've just been spoiled with all remake and the 28-movies, but that's how i like my zombies =D
Or like they are in the Resident Evil REmake, slow but frightening.

To a point I agree with you about the first Dawn of the Dead. It definitely doesn't have as much of a serious feel to it as the re-make, but it can be a fun flick if you're not looking for anything really dark...or even terribly well done lol. Like I said before, the 28 movies are -awesome-, but I've never seen any of the RE flicks.

No real reason to see the RE movies. Sure they have some good action, but the plot and writing makes me want to hurt small animals. The last one almost seemed like a contest on who could have the most pointless death. Also, they've pretty much waited until the 4th film to start taking ideas from the actual games.

No no no, im not talking about those less than stellar movies, talking about the game lol

^This is were it's at.

I must admit when it comes to horrors im a total pussy (Im the type of guy that tilts his glasses down so he doesnt lose his cool... Smooth ey?) but I just love slasher movies! :D
Cant stand 'psychological' horror like Blair witch and Saw, I fucking hate thase ones where people are put into some kind of a trap type thing. (It annoys me more than anything else)
Japanese horrors like The Grudge ETC really float my boat though.
One funny thing though is this story an Army buddy told me, He was getting really pissed off with getting interrupted by people coming into his room so he decided to put on a horror and started masterbating, Dude barged into his room and thought he had a 'problem' (Into actual Guro or something) Anyway I thought it was kind of a clever way to get people to stop being annoying. (They never interrupted him again, At least without knocking first that is) :D
