How late can a girls period get when shes stressed?
0
OK please I'm freaking out here. My girlfreind is 9 days late for her period and she says its probably streesed due to the fact shes failing one a her college courses. but I dont think a girl can be that late for her period. So I don't know what to do or think.
(keep in mind that I'm still a virgin)

She can be that late if she has an irregular period. Months can go by and not a thing will come. But that's only for the really irregular ones. If she's very punctual with her periods then I say be worried!
ps: I'm not really a sexpert, so please don't take everything I say as an absolute truth. Google is your friend.

This topic is hardly serious enough to be in Serious Discussion.
First of all, it all depends on the girl. Without birth control my period likes to be 3-5 weeks late.
Second of all, if she's stressed, that can influence a girls menstrual cycle.
I don't know all the scientific details, but basically think of it this way: if her body is stressed out, then her body will assume that her environment will be a bad time to reproduce and give life to a new baby.
Lastly, if she's not a virgin and you're a virgin, what the hell are you still doing as a virgin? Holding onto it for some reason?
If she's cheated in the past you're dumb to be even dating her

HAHA, I love that you put this in SD because you're SERIOUS. It doesn't belong here and someone is going to move it soon.

On topic, 9 days is too much imo. And if she's well known for cheating, well... tough situation you're in.

It certainly is possible if she has irregular cycles. However, if she is known to cheat then there is a reason to warrant caution. I'd like to say just assume the best, but there is also the motto of assuming the worst. *shrugs*

have u considered that maybe she's an irregular one (irregular on her period) also does she drink lots of water cus if the body senses that there's a water defieciency the body just says "lest wait til shes a lil more hydrated or she'll fall in a hypovolemic state, and thus {gettin late}" also um yeah, strees could also be the cause
i know all this cause i'm in med skool 8-)

I'm normally on birth control, and I know how my body behaves. I think he gets a little worried once in a while, but I usually roll my eyes at him and tell him to stop fussing over it.
There's no sense in worrying about it, stress can easily take affect in a woman's menstrual cycle.

He probably posted it in SD so as to get a proper answer from the people that frequent it, and not people taking the piss or giving advice that they aren't really in any position to. Not that I'm accusing anyone of that (or saying it belonged in SD, really), but SD is a sort of safeguard.
Anyway, I think Ziggy is pretty much on the money. Could be either/or, but that's an odd situation you're in in the first place, and one which you might want to review.

Why are you even together with her if she is known to cheat, meaning that she has done it more than once? And You are still a virgin? WHAT THE HELL MAN, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!

The best thing to do right now is to not freak out you'll just stress her out more. If she doesn't get her period by 2 weeks and you're worried then have her take a pregnancy test. And then go from there. Obviously if she's pregnant and you're still a virgin you should probably dump her. lol

When I have multiple deadlines or the rent is due, I have been known to completely skip my period for a month. Stress, lack of sleep, unhealthy diet are causes for skipped period - that is, if she isn't pregnant.
edit: My sister sometimes won't have her period for like three months. Some people are just like that.

I'm not a bitch about it <_< and he understands that if I'm not medicated my hormones won't keep my period regulated. As film_orange mentioned, some girls are just that way.
Plus, if I ever got pregnant, I don't have any doubts that Fpod wouldn't want to be a supportive father, after he has a panic attack of course.

... that was a joke, Ziggy. Hence the smilie face. Christ, I'll apparently never be able to convey sarcasm on the internet.
