I Hate Baking

Baking is easy! And fun. I bake more then I cook...and I don't do both very often, lol
Since my friend is visiting from college still, we've been baking a lot. Bread, cookies, brownies, she even made amazing home-made cinnamon rolls. *drool*

i Dont like flour... it gets everywhere...
but baking is nice in the sense you basically have to mix something and put it in the oven for a long time and not have to do anything else...

Baking is what i like, except sourdough... can't get the starter to be really sour-doughy.

So far I've done
Baguettes, Hala, Brioche, Danish, Croissants, Scones, Focaccia, Muffins and Banana Nut Bread.

Baking is for women.Second that! My sister loves to bake, and does a good job with it.
But when it comes to cooking: ramen noodle and eggs are her only recipe ^^.
Me, I'm just too impatient to wait for the food to come out.
I make delicious food, but usually no more than 10 minutes.

The baker in me wants to attack you guys who say baking is for women.
Seriously, how often do you see women baking the bread in a bakery? (Statistically... there is 25 men to every 1 female that works in the baking industry)
Baking takes a lot more patience than cooking (especially with things like bread)
A decent sour dough loaf takes 2-3 days to make from scratch. (and some of the best sour doughs come from starter doughs that have been carefully looked decades, some even are a couple of centuries old)
Cakes, cookies, biscuits, muffins etc on the other hand are incredibly easy to make!

The only thing that makes baking harder than regular cooking is that you have to be so precise. exact mesures, heat, and times. cooking i can play more loose with the recipies.
incidentally, i just baked a spice cake. i have a can of milk choclate frosting, but i don't know if it will go good with the spice cake. i don't want to break the seal on the can if it turns out to be a bad match.
anyone ever had a spice cake with choclate frosting?

Well shagwell it's as my chef said "Baking is science and cooking is magic"that sounds much better than the way i said it.
i tried the choclate frosting, but kind of over powered the flavor of the cake. now i have to make a choclate cake to use the rest of the frosting before it goes bad.
