If your dream is moving to Japan, will, do you want to stay forever?
Assuming, your job is average paying job, or your ideal job and you're already on a steady learning Japanese program so communication isn't an issue.

I would love to spend at least a couple of years there, though only a couple because I'd probably get home sick or something like that. but while I would be there I'd learn all that I could about the culture and the music scene.

Studying japanese has taught me many of their customs, and while I do intend to do my Master's Degree there, and live a bit of time, I couldn't possibly resist my whole life (as I am now).
I'm Mexican (yeah not an immigrant I live in Mexico City) and truly I cannot live without mexican food, my cousin went two weeks to Japan, at the end of the first week she was eating along with many americans at a McDonald's, such is the lure and curse of food.
I don't know if I'll stay forever, but now I aim to stay 2 to 5 years.
P.S Japan has many beautiful things, but for freedom loving people, and people who enjoy spending time with their family, this place may a seem a bit hard on you.

Looks like I'm the only one who doesn't want to live there. All I want is to visit Japan for a week, and that's enough for me.

What's this about a language program? Is it what I'm thinking of, or am I assuming things?
Back on topic, I wouldn't mind living there, especially if I was still able to do comics and hopefully have be my job. Seems better Tsubaki staying in the US or moving back to Guatemala... so yeah...

Nah, cartels are in the North, well they are already here (Mexico City) but since I'm a student, and since this is the capital they keep their activities to a minimum, anyway since you've been there you know much more than me, though I still find it a hard place to live, that may be because their traditions are a bit different from us, we like o cut down the chase when talking, whereas japanese aren't so fond of doing it (or at least that's what it looked like).
Anyway glad to see another mexican here!

Sounds awesome!!! Which one are you looking into working with?
Personally, I would love to work for Shaft, because their works seem to be the most creative ones.

I'd like to experience the country first. I'd need to do that with any country I'd be debating on moving to.

If I could honestly find the type of electrical/computer engineering job I desired and enjoyed with a salary that would be equivalent to what I would make in the US I would definitely move to Japan and never look back.
If I could not fulfill the above I would frequent the country as often as possible.
Planning my first trip in 2 years as a break between bachelors and master degree's, so pumped up for that.

Would honestly depend on how every day life is there; those who don't have exposure to the daily life can idolize the country (doesn't necessarily apply to just Japan) and then find that it isn't suited to their tastes when they actually have a chance to spend some time there. Assuming I become adept at the language, I'd certainly love to spend some time there. Would it be the place I want to spend the rest of my life, though? I have no idea.

Probably just to visit but if I like it there, I'll master Japanese and move there.
