Immortality or Rencarnation
There can be only one (Immortality)

Would you want to be Immortale ? What problems would you face if you were the only survivor on earth and what would take up your spare time ?If the earth was still hospitable and humans did not die out What could you possably do to alliveate your boredom if you simply got tired of living through the century's after all of your family and friends have passed ? How would you deal with the emotional pain and anguish ? Knowleged maybe limitless being at your disposal but eventually there would more than likly come a time when such things would hold no meaing to you and your forever long life.(Note this is the Immortality that grants you a youthfull aperance of about anywhere between 16 to 25 years of age,yet with the added benfit of being able to grow facial hair or add wrinkels etc so as to not arouse suspicion on your immortality)
If you happen to choose rencarnation yet all known sentient life is dead would you be willing to come back as a bacteria ?
Could a mod fix my poll please because for some reason There can be only one (Immortality) is not a poll option you can vote on. What the Fuck happened ?

I would choose reincarnation, it will be different every time, fantastic.I understand that variety is the spice of life, but I rather like my current form. Also there's the uncertainty that you would retain your present self in any facet. You could be unaware of who you once were, unable to move past set backs, ultimately it would seem to me that you would be transient from shallow existence to shallow existence, a fate which I would seek to avoid.

Let me play devil's advocate to anyone who'll choose immortality, this one goes to me as well. Oh, and I'm operating on the basis that the type of immortality is the perfect type (eternal youth; immunity to diseases, wounds, medical science)
How will you deal with loved ones who have died and the prospect of everyone you will ever meet will one day leave you too?
How will you treat other's lives? If you, whose life has no value, can value the lives of others? (god that sounded bad ass)
How will you interact with people? Will you share your immortality? The knowledge that you are immortal? Will you keep it a secret? Will you hide it in fear of being turned into a lab rat, shunned from society and everybody?
Will you still value time? Will you spend your days as if it was limited or treat it as an over abundant commodity?
What will you do if you are imprisoned?
How will you deal with the idea that one day your planet and even species will die out?
How will you deal with the end of the universe? If you even make it to the next big bang and the next universe. How will this new life treat you? And how will you treat this new life?
How will you deal with loved ones who have died and the prospect of everyone you will ever meet will one day leave you too?

Meet new people, the world is a big place.
How will you treat other's lives?
Expendable until I know them
If you, whose life has no value, can value the lives of others?
Sure, the brevity of their lives makes it precious
How will you interact with people?
Fabrications of normalcy, live as a nomad. See the world, meet new and exciting people, become a piece of folk-lore
Will you share your immortality?
No, it's not mine to give.
The knowledge that you are immortal?
Not a chance
Will you keep it a secret?
Already answered. Yes.
Will you hide it in fear of being turned into a lab rat, shunned from society and everybody?
No, they'll never take me alive and I can't die. I'd hide it to prevent questions.
Will you still value time?
I would gain insights to what time is. Once that is known I'd have a better appreciation than anyone else.
Will you spend your days as if it was limited or treat it as an over abundant commodity?
I'd spend them as I like. There's always something more to do and something new to learn.
What will you do if you are imprisoned?
Escape, not like I've be busy otherwise.
How will you deal with the idea that one day your planet and even species will die out?
I would use my considerable knowledge that I gained to get us off of this rock by the. The sky calls to us, if we do not destroy ourselves we will one day venture to the stars
How will you deal with the end of the universe?
Probably with popcorn. By then I ought to know how the Universe was made, perhaps I would nature another and become God, then perplex people into thinking I did and didn't exist.
If you even make it to the next big bang and the next universe. How will this new life treat you?
Well I'd either be God or the most evolved being. Sounds like fun to tamper with evolution.
And how will you treat this new life?
Better than the previous one, the next even better still.
That ought to do it...

I'd rather reincarnate. I suffer from depression enough as it is, would be far too easy for me to fall into melancholy.

After watching Mnemosyne, I would not want to be immortal. Please, please, please, use correct grammar.

Is it a buddhist reincarnation? Or just a straight up Egyptian reincarnation? By that I mean are we assured to always be reincarnated as the same species or can we come back as something other than a human?

I'm more into reincarnation rather than immortality because being immortal means you have to have one life in one body (depends on technology and other factors) whereas being reincarnated means you come back to life as another being.

Uhmm, i understand what you are saying and i'm thinking about it.
Indeed reincarnation would be good if you can remember who you were and everything.
Sure, if i can't remember anything from one life to another it's just like a normal life and, at this point, immortality is a way better.

Reincarnation. If I were immortal I would shoot myself. .. Or any other method of suicide until it takes. Immortality is completely overrated, eventually everyone and everything you ever care about dies or disappears, but you remain.

Unless I can choose my next form and keep my memories, then immortality. However, is it physical immortality (you can still die by a wound that can kill instantly) or true immortality (you can not die)? True immortality would be awful to have, but it's the one I'd like.

Spoiler:
i thought the manga "immortal rain" demonstrated the down sides of immortality without super human capabilities (i think). story lead with a positive mindset but i thought it was a good example of an immortal life in which everyone and everything that became important was used as a bargaining chip to capture him, he had to constantly move from place to place to escape his pursuers throughout his life time as an immortal. (never finished it)
it has been awhile since i last read the manga, but since its only immortality that you have i doubt you'll have abilities that much greater than humans (other than the ability to keep your cells in a constant state while functioning, and the ability to repair and regress to a functional state). as such, with human abilities, and 1 body, i find it easy to be contained, and retrained, taken apart, experimented, dissected. drugs would not have effects on the body making meaning you feel all pain.
the idea of finding and obtaining the abilities of immortality is a desire i'd say half the world would want. so i doubt there would be many places to hide.
another manga example would be Raiders, where the immortals of the world are wound up by the church, caged and tortured till a time they desire the immortals abilities promising them a release from there suffering as long as they are of use, else a return to the suffering.
as for me, i would prefer a type of dalai lama method. with a ability to choose what, and who i am born too. my luck in life, the time in which im born, ect. id prefer the ability to restart whenever i like, however i like, as whoever i want, retaining all my memories. i don't want to live 1 life, i want multiple lives, multiple experiences. to be able to see things from multiple peoples perspectives and collect all my experiences together. if i had to say which of the 2 would be a better king (god), i would say the one who understand the people best would be. though if i had to settle basic Buddhist reincarnation is fine too, i don't know much about Egyptian but if you get to stay human then that.
