Immortality (remade)

I would if:
My immortality would be based on reincarnation.(Like remembering all of what happened in my past lives) And I would always reincarnate as a human.
I would have a regeneration ability but I will die of old age (I would reincarnate anyway)
I can end my immortality by saying a certain spell or word
I will go to heaven if I lose my immortality and die

i would like to be inmortal to see how humanity will be destroyed since im waiting for so long :(

I wish to persue immortality through transhumanism. And don't just go "oh, you'v just been watching too much Ghost in the Shell" NO! It is a completly viable method of obtaining a near infinite lifespan. Only downside is we are currently at the point where we knoe it's possible but don't know exactly how long it will be before we can do it. As I recall current estimates place the earliest implementation of commercial Human Enhancement Technologies will be in the ealy to mid 2020s. So I'm hoping that they will be able to extend my lifespan long enough to swap out this already broken body in for a new one, organic or inorganic. But complete invincibility is currently off the radar. (but if certain theories hold then it could be possible)

If I could stay young forever, and make my body always return to a certain state (a scarless, and preferably atractive state, which might have to vary when the defenition of atractiveness does);

if I could avoid getting caught/enslaved/etc. like many ppl mentioned;

and if I could have a life where I only did what I wanted too (, like just lazing my bum of for enternity XD), then I wouldn`t mind being immortal.

That doesn`t mean I would live forever, that just means that I`d decide the best time to kill myself (, which would be done by resorting to a suicidal method that I would master with my near-endless time (,which is actually very scarce), and resort to a mind-destuction technique).

That's kind of a hard question to answer at my age. The two generic answers, "Yes, because there's so much i could do" or "No, because i'd watch everyone around me die". My immediate answer is no, and not for some stupid reason like i'd see everyone around me die, chances are i'll witness some of that either way.

It's because i foresee alot of boredom, long term amusement is the only thing you need to worry about really. Some might throw out the idea of becoming leader of men, or curing cancer.. standard shit. But honestly, if you aren't going to be ruler of the world in your life time, i doubt having an eternity to do it would change much.

Immortality is better reserved for the few that could do good with it, Doctors, Inventors, that lot. I'm an Artist, Otaku and a Pervert, i can say all the good shit, i'll witness the innovations of man kind, future tech. Do great things for humanity, or take over mankind. But the truth is i'd probably spend all that time masturbating and playing video games.

I would like to ask if we get OLDER when we are immortal. If i were to sit as an extremely old man for ethernity, i would rather die at 60. XD

Nope, I would be alone. People would move on to death while I would live.
I think I would get sick over time and just end my life on my own.

That would be nearly impossible, because, as you are immortal, most ways suicide wouldn't work on you (unless you're picking a way that dissolves your entire body.)

OT: I wouldn't mind being immortal. Why? Simple: for the knowledge. I would actually like to see the how world changes and evolves, even if I don't.

Of course, my mind would probably crack from trying to gain billions of years of knowledge and i would go insane, existing for eternity as a demented madman.

No because i feel like you would be sad because people you know and love would all die. Also, you would have to work forever because you will need money to keep yourself funded. You would probaly be scientifically tested once scientist found out that you look 20 or so and you are actually over 100.

I hear this sort of shit, and you know what I think? What weak willed people. Immortality would be wasted upon you. My lord, you have no idea what you would be to humanity if you were immortal. A target? Certainly. A living God? Almost certainly. It would be glory undying.

I am immortal

Being immortal essentially equates to being invincible. What you're looking for is maybe having a body that does not decay and die due to natural causes [ie, decomposition, poor nutrition]. You could live as long as you want that way, but still die if you got hit by a truck or something.

And I would go with that as well. I loathe the idea of getting old and my body failing with age.
