This is good advice. You're just creating unnecessery stress for yourself and if you keep interfering in their relationship without thier consent, then you'll just eventually make things really bad for yourself. It's best just to wait and watch, even if it's unbearable. Your real problem comes after the situation have completely change. That's when you should start thinking what to do.
Even if you are both thier friends, you have no right to interfer in their personal relationship without one of thier consent.

                        Personally, I've had best friends crush/START to fall for my gfs, and that was NEVER a pretty thing. I always resented such feelings, and I would NEVER desire to do the same to a friend.
