Japanese Idol Shaves Head for Sex Scandal

Japan is a place where honor and rules are laws .. this also includes being in a group that are idols for the fans .. being a role model is one of the toughest jobs out there, because you have to constantly live up to everyone's expectations whilst they are living up to the idols as well.
Looking at this makes me realize we are losing more and more humanity and are forgetting that no matter how rich, how powerful, how famous .. you are still a human being with human desires.
Nobody is perfect, so she doesn't have to apologize to everybody for this.

What does it mean by "sex scandal"? Was there anything to prove that it really did happen, such as a sex video? If none, then it is just a mere assumption by the public. I somehow do understand that the Japanese people has an utmost care for their dignity, but I find her fans' reaction to the scoop as totally absurd. It should have not ended to that point. In any case, she can still move on with her life, even before her hair grows back to its usual length.
An idol "sex scandal" usually is nothing more than vague suspicion of being in a relationship with a man. Seriously, I'm not even kidding.

What the fuck? so she can't have her holes banged just because she's an idol? she's a human before she is an idol, she can do whatever the fuck she wants and have sex with whoever the fuck she wants, i knew japan was weird and fucked up in a way (As if it's something new to us), but this is going too far.

It's insane that it's still ongoing, to be honest.

AKB48 fans are crazy but so are their managers who organize and publicize this stuff. When I think creepy over the top idol otaku group, I think AKB48. They market using the girl;s "purity", saying they belong only to their fans. The reason having a romantic life is taboo for the group is because it shatters the illusions of the fans worshiping them. It is actually their policy and this thing was probably just as prompted by the fans reaction as it was by her managers who threatened her job after hearing about her original "scandal". As for what the scandal was, I believe she posted something saying she thought idols like herself should be alowed to have a private life or something.
Pretty much everytime I hear about AKB48 I facepalm so this is not suprising really. Just know that most Japanese are just as appalled each time something about them pops up in the news.

Uh guys, you should have seen their music videos, so you could have guessed what sort of otaku-fan base they have. And of course, the group main aim is to those otaku-fans. I seriously disagree with those guys, but of course they will get pissed off knowing one member of their "food for thought" idol group having sex with another man instead of them in their own fantasy. So I completely want to burn their dicks, but to be honest, I'm not surprised with the way they react like that.

I thought things like this only happens on animes.
This definitely is a negative to AKB48 especially at a time when Korean Girl groups are starting to invade the Japanese Music Industry.

It is fucking insane the way Japanese "idols" are expected to behave like virginal property of their fandoms.THEY ARE PEOPLE, AND PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO A PRIVATE LIFE WHICH CAN INCLUDE SEX. The fact that so many are called "ruined" or "whores" from merely being seen dating, let alone having had sex, is just enough to make me want to scream.
This, honestly there's nothing to atone, she had sex, you at some point has had or will have sex, everyone and their grandmothers have sex.

It's pretty fucked up if you know the whole background, but the matter of the fact is that idols in Japan are essentially manufactured. It's not much better in America but it's still pretty harsh what happens to people when they do such things to "tarnish" their own image. remember, this is the same country that the country is 99% one ethnicity, created the whole idea of bukakke, and sold used panties in vending machines.
at least she didn't get pregnant. i hope.

first off AKB48 is not the only group or talent that practice the 'discipline'
of idols should be single, pure and not taken and they market their availability
from what was said in the news, she was seen exiting from the room or the building where a fellow performer lives. people can make assumptions of what happened in said room. she admitted to the tryst and to show her contrition she shaved her head. instead of her getting fired she was 'demoted'.
it's Japan (not to shove down your in throats that you should 'accept' the culture of other countries). fans are known to kill themselves if it comes to their knowledge that their favorite idol is taken.
I try to understand but I too think it's stupid.

From what I understand (given more information this may change) over the last few years, fan boys treat and have the mind set that "idols" by some extension, belong to them. That they are entitled to pay back their fan base by remaining as pure as their fantasies ideal woman is. That purity is based off sexual experience, and that females having experience makes them loose. Japanese men have a high value for virgins.
Japanese Idols are not allowed to date, it's taboo. If there caught their forced out of the media world. A very chauvinistic system, like beauty pageants, but harsher, completely involves strangers ignoring and dictating human emotions and desires.

man just a sex scandal who care about atonement.
she take wrong action, if she shaves like that it will make him out as idol.
Scandal make artist more brighter, without scandal everyone will forget you (yesterday idol, today common people)

I learned most of the debauchery in my brain from Japanese media so I thought Japan at present is pretty liberated when it comes to sex. It's just sad too see Minegishi throw all her dignity on the floor.

So true. Celebrity will never escape from scandal even if it is the most ridiculous thing ever *cough*TMZ*cough*.
