Judge William Adams Beats Daughter

I knew I would feel some level of anger from watching this, but I didn't expect I'd get so angry that I'd start breaking things. My hands are still shaking. Too many childhood memories came rushing back to me -Not memories, feelings. I haven't been this angry in years. So many years. (I'm glad my foster-dad is dead. Burn. In. Hell.)
This man is just disgusting! Who the hell spanks a 16 year-old?!
What do you think should happen to this man? I'm sorry if I'm not being too clear on what exactly the point of discussion is on this, I'm still pretty messed up, but I just thought I'd share this, this kind of thing can't be ignored.

And there's no much use to it here anyways... not like there's a swarm of Aransas district voters lurking.
The best that can be done is just let the district voters see this domestic abusive judge and be left in their judgment.

This was back in 2004 and she posts it now? This is just a case of the daughter hating daddy for being an abusive parent and there's nothing really to discuss except that physical "parenting", such as smacking, was outlawed over the past 10 years. Although I can see why she uploaded the video, apparently he has backwards views on technology. If that's the case, he may aswell be Amish.

I doubt anything will happen to him, except maybe have his name tarnished and because this is the internet, it will never go away just because of this video. The most he'll most likely get in real life would be a slap on the wrist or a fine.

I realized this may get locked or moved, I just thought this case of child abuse (or child abuse in general) would make for a serious discussion. As for why she posted this so late, I don't know. I wouldn't exactly be eager to post this kind of thing if I were in her shoes, you know?

Another reason she may have waited so long is because she thought her parents would change and she didn't want to hurt them. Her mom seemed to have changed.

This doesn't seem like abuse rather than a parent punishing his daughter for doing something illegal.

theoretically if youtube hosts it.. then pretty much they won't lock it.

"ROCKPORT - We caught up with Aransas County Court-at-Law Judge William Adams as he left his home in Rockport today. At first he told us he would not comment on the video showing a girl being beaten with a belt and a board that was posted online.

Then he confirmed it is in fact his daughter being beaten and he tried to explain what happened when the video was shot in 2004.

"She's mad because I've ordered her to bring the car back, in a nutshell, but yeah that's me, I lost my temper," Adams told us. "Her mother was there, she wasn't hurt.. it was a long time ago.. I really don't want to get into this right now because as you can see my life's been made very difficult over this child," Adams continued.

When asked if he felt he was going to face any suspension or discipline from the state over the video Adams responded, "In my mind I have not done anything wrong other than discipline my child when she was caught stealing. I did lose my temper, I've apologized.. it looks worse than it is."

Adams added that he informed the Judicial Review board himself after seeing the video had been posted online by his daughter."

He obviously loves her daughter very much.

That's a bit too much with too much potential for serious injury. My parents hit me to the point that I don't get bruised nor feel that much pain when hit anymore.

I can understand that America has laws against this because "Americans" that hit their child are usually abusive. But from what I see, the Judge was simply punishing her. Its not like he does this to her everyday or regularly. It seems more like a one time thing.

It wasn't a one time thing, Sprite. If you listen to how he talks and what he says, you'll notice he has issues. Him and his wife (mostly him imo) are sadistic, sociopaths and control freaks. The belt would have been acceptable if she were younger but she's 16! That's far too old to still get hit with a belt. When you want to punish a teenager, you take away their cellphone, their internet, and don't let them go out for awhile. You don't swing your belt wildly, hitting her all over, and threaten to hit her in the face. Now it's obvious that your standards for a beating are a bit high, but keep in mind that she's 16 (at the time) and was far too old to get hit, at all. Not to mention she has cerebral palsy.

Actually, I think you're biased because you have memories of REAL abuse and therefore inclined to think that most beatings are abuse. Also taking away cellphone and internet is not an effective way to punish a teenager. Hitting them isn't an effective way to punish them either. Still I hold that its not abuse. If that Judge was my father, I wouldn't like him either but I'm not going to condemn him to hell for that.

It's kinda disgusting to watch, more because of how angry he gets than the beating. If he was serious about making it a punishment, you don't do that type of thing in that state of mind. Beating someone in anger is not discipline in my opinion.

I'm in my mid thirties now, and i've watched quite a few kids grow up over the years. some that i knew when i was a kid, and my friends kids who are now adults or teenagers. i must say, the ones who were smacked around when they got out of line make far better adults. the ones who were given "time outs" and "a good talking to" and all that lovey dovey hippie dippy shit are completely useless wastes of space and drains on society. the ones who got off easy now have this sense of entitlement and no understading that their actions have coniquences.


example A, a girl i went to school with: her parents were acctual smelly hippies. so her need to rebel and be different from them has led her to want to be rich. rather than get an education and a carrer to earn money, she looks for a rich man to support her.

example B, a friends son. when he was in Jr high, he started hanging around with little wanna be thugs. they were getting into trouble doing stupid shit like random vandalism and picking fights. one day he almost got expelled from scholl so my friend kicked his ass. now that kid is 19, owns a business and a house.


if you hit your kids when they're young, other people won't want to when they are adults.

Why is this on video in the first place?

blackmail/revenge/tantrum.

This is similar to how my friends and I were punished when we were young. I recall my mom hitting on the head with the end of her high heels and a bunch of other unpleasant memories. I know that she was punished the same way as a child so I don't really have anything against it.

I don't see how this is such a big deal as:

1)Williams is just punishing his child for disobeying his rules.
2)If the child was a boy I'm sure the reaction wouldn't be as big.
3)Chinese, Korean, and other Asians face this type of shit everyday. (More than others)

IMO: He shouldn't lose his job or face any criminal charges. My views come from my cultural background.
