Making the forums a better place.

Concerning the first rule on the Rules and FAQ page:


I feel like a lot of people look at the first part of this rule ("Do not insult or harass other members.") and ignore the rest. I have especially seen a lot of "baiting" going on here, saying things to purposefully upset another member, solely for the sake of being able to laugh at that person when he/she gets upset. It might seem like it's not harmful, but it is still a form of trolling.

This is a rule that will have to be taken a lot more seriously from now on, and it has been quite unfortunate that it hasn't been enforced till now where we've seen so many cases of trolling, baiting, and flaming all around.

On a general basis, it's like we're starting from square one and the rules WILL be enforced, by the admin staff as mentioned by Nikon and by us older users.

I couldn't agree more with G-money. I don't think I can even add 2¢ to it.

Well I guess I'll start to use the "Report" button. I never really decided to use it because like g-money has said I let it go on for the humor of the thread. I'm kind of a new user so I don't really know what things were like back then, but I have been noticing alot of posts that neglect any thought/logic in them. Same for the threads like a few I saw that were made to flame other users or something. All the repeating threads seem to come from the new members so there isn't much we can do to stop that since they are just getting used to things. And although users like FreeNadia and lollollol12 have broke the rules, I guess you can say we just grew to love them anyways. TMS said he wasn't gonna troll anymore and try to make more quality posts and it seems FreeNadia is making better quality posts as well. As for lollollol12 I don't really know what to say, but possibly cut back on the racist stuff. But yeah maybe having more moderators could help and give them a specific section to look out for and have the global moderators keep an eye on all the forums to make sure everyone's doing their part.

General discussion for general things.

Its not like IB where you can just make spamming posts. Threads/posts in random also require a degree of thought or logic before actually posting them.

WHO SAYS YOU NEED LOGIC FOR THE RANDOM FORUM?

Funny how there's talk about strict moderation but the nonsensical/worthless posts still exist in this thread.

And there are at least three threads in random right now that belong in IB.

Maybe instead of complaining about it, you could have done what Nikon suggested - report it.

It quite obvious you're completely missing the point that Nikon was trying to make. Do us a favor and stop posting crap like this ^. You want to spam, go to IB, simple as that.

Hmmmm, something's off here. "Random" and "General Discussion" is not a good fit imo. I think Random section should be renamed to something that screams "Have some degree of logic and intellegence while still fun". But i'm stuck, i just can't find the right word ~_~


He actually have a point. This thread does not belong in Random. I think this should be moved to Feedback and Suggestion.

And lastly, i suggest that somebody make a stickied thread, containing rules/statement that clearly states the difference between Random and IB, complete with the things you should and shouldn't do in each section. Because as far as i can see after my hiatus, the line that separates Random and IB is getting blurry.

Just my 2 cents.

When they named this section "Random" they meant any topic that don't have a specific home for it (Really doesn't have an objective). Though the term does not call for intelligence, it is a given to post coherent topics because there is a section for incoherence (Note: It is called Incoherent Babbling).


Not really, since this thread is section specific and it is in the said section.


Though we expect members to have common sense to figure it out themselves, I think this is a good idea. Too many new fags who post incoherence and too many old fags complain about it.

The report button is a powerful tool. you should use it with discretion, to answer your question kivbat. use it when someone is being purposefully malicious. someone spamming the forums or being particularly offensive.
