Manchester United Vs Arsenal

Baaaah what a letdown. Not entirely unexpected but I really thought Arsenal would show a bit more verve and drive in their play, but there was nothing, even after several let-offs. It looked the whole time like they were afraid to run at the defence, even Nasri, like they didn't trust their own to back them up. United broke down their play very well, but Arsenal were showing glimpses of the one-touch passing in the first half, and it just went in the second. Clichy was awful, Rafael was excellent, and Arsenal needed Walcott on for Arshavin a lot sooner.
I still can't see Chelsea or Man United winning the league though. Chelsea only need to lose or draw a couple for Ancelotti to go, and that would doom their season. United will stutter through the Christmas break and never quite pick up their 'late season' form.

I can't remember who we can play in the left.
I don't like Clichy, but Eboue?
FUCK, there goes the race ;___;

Gibbs would have been playing if he wasn't injured. :(
I'm sounding a bit too pro-Arsenal here. I just wanted more of a competition (plus Gibbs is a great up-and-coming English player).

It's a shame he got injured last week against Partizan.
The guy is tough, just what we need, but injuries always plague Arsenal players.

Arsenal was just plain not good this match. Both teams playing subpar, but Arsenal was struggling more so.

Completely off topic, but there's another difference between British and American English that I've noticed all over the place, which is the use of was/were with clubs. I would say 'Arsenal were good' because I think of the club as a collective of players, whose performances you are referring to. When I say 'Arsenal was just plain not good' in my head, it's like saying 'an pair of something'...it just feels wrong. An interesting one. ^_^

Actually, to say "Arsenal was just plain not good" is improper English in America. The closest proper way to phrase that would be, "Put plainly, Arsenal did not play well." or "was not playing well". Rule of thumb is you don't end a sentence with "good", it should instead be "well"

Well, the sentence sounded a bit convoluted, but I took that for slang. What I mean is that British English invariably uses club names to refer to the plurality of players, rather than a single entity. It's a bit hard to explain beyond saying that I would use 'Arsenal were really impressive' or 'Arsenal were not playing well', which I guess describes the team, instead of 'Arsenal was really impressive' or 'Arsenal was not playing well', which pertains to the club; you just would not hear the latter in the media or conversation. It's ultimately a tiny discrepancy, but I see it a lot reading American sports reports, and it annoys me to no end. :p
Can't think of any applications beyond sports teams in my sleep deprived state. Perhaps there are none.

One must be prepared to lose while gambling. That being said, I lost the bet and so my signature nows says the following: Neko-chan is better than me at some things, especially in predicting the outcome of football matches.
That being said, I will make a comeback soon!
After some consideration, the entire process was rather fun. Perhaps we should do it again when another major match is on the horizon. :)

Chelsea play Man United this coming Sunday. That should be a better game and could define both their seasons. :)

I hope they lose. >_>
What do you guys think of Javier Hernandez? I know everyone was expecting him to fail miserably, but he's done pretty well in my opinion.

Were they? Everyone here said he was the next Solsjkaer before he'd even played for United, and he does look to be that kind of finisher. Needs more consistent service than we could give him at the moment though, without playing Berbatov behind him anyway.

well..."chicharito", indeed even here in mex, we thought he was going to fail as almost all mexican players in Europe, but guess all his effort will bring to him good results, always gives the best when he plays, and looks like has a good future, not just for the ManU, for the Mex team too, but still the team he came here in mex, i dont like xD. But despite of that i always try to watch ManU games to see if he plays and support him!.
VIVA MAN-U!!! xD...

These are two of the more prestigious and talented clubs in the League, so the game should be good. [font=Verdana][color=green]If only it was like that in practice, as the last game proved.
Besides, the question is now between Chelsea v Manchester United. Being a Chelsea fan, I'd like to say them; but not winning in the Premier League for 5 weeks is a terrible record. Against a team like Man U, they'll either show shining form or get destroyed.
I still reckon Chelsea have the potential to win the League; it's only due to current form have the other teams overtaken them.
