Viz have been putting out some original and quality titles for a while (and overall quality books).
I'm sorry. What? VIZ and quality don't belong in the same sentence, unless it is VIZ
does not have quality titles. There is nothing redeeming about VIZ and they are one of the only anime licensors that actively sends out those useless C&D letters to fansubbers. No one likes them. :P
You're being quite the douchebag here, dood. Dissing Viz and not presenting any real reasons as to why they suposedly suck. Also, it seems we're on the wrong page here. I was talking about their
manga titles, not anime.
My reasons as to why I love them (manga-wise, as I've never gotten anime off of them):
1) They have a fairly good repertoire of mangas (the famous and less famous shonens, shoujos, and even some good
josei and seinens).
2) The overall quality of the books is amazing:
>the paper for the covers and pages is usually very good (I'd say as good as Del Rey; on the other hand, I hate the low quality paper tokyopop uses for their covers);
>the editing is fantastic, as they completely redraw EVERY sfx and the likes and do pretty well at that (Del Rey not doing that, but doing good editing nonetheless; dissing tokyopop again, they've got the laziest editors i've seen)
3) And the price is the best around.
So yeah, viz has got to be my favorite company in manga translation. Del Rey is pretty nice as well, though they lack some better quality titles. Tokyopop, even though I dislike lots of things about it (a company that only seems to care about quantity over quality), I like that they do get some good titles from time to time.
That about it. Feel free to argument.
