Operating System companies need to get the hell out of the mobile market. Everyone's tired of Microsoft's shitty excuses for products and Apple's god-complex over every aspect of their users' (read: slaves) product experience.
Leave the devices to companies like Google, who can do it right the first time.

ImperialX, don't take this personal, b/c it's not supposed to be, but why did you even start this thread? Are you just blowing out steam? I checked your links and see no alleged double standard. A quick google search for "news" and "blogs" for Microsoft Kin actually reveals at best a mixed reception that seems titled towards the negative.
So I don't see this pro Microsoft, anti apple conspiracy, in fact it looks like the opposite. Reading Gizmodo, Time Magazine, Newsweek, AnandTech, and even my beloved WallStreet journal for the past month and the half has been insufferable b/c of the IPad hype. Don't get me wrong I like apple, I actually have a macbook I got from work and its the best labtop I have ever used period, but really? really? If the ipad isn't what they make it out to be, it won't be b/c the media was conspiring against it that is for sure.
Anyways, out of all the things to get paranoid over, you're paranoid over criticism directed towards apple? Why do you need to attach so much baggage over a consumer item? it's supposed to work for you, not the other way around.

Yeah, I was surprised until I read the rest of the post. Why bother if all you're going to do is slam it? It's just rinse and repeat with you. Defend Apple, bash Microsoft (or M$ as kool kats such as you like to call them).

Yes, I'm starting a Microsoft thread.
Today, Microsoft introduced their Mobile Phone, the KIN, at a press conference.
It can't run any third party applications, and doesn't even come with a Calendar. The only thing it can do beside making calls is update your Facebook and Twitter status. Because of that, Microsoft calls it a "social phone". However, contradictory to its name, it doesn't come with any Instant Messaging apps. Also, it takes 15 minutes for any status updates to show up on the phone since it doesn't support Multitasking or Push Notifications.
Unsurprisingly, the KIN has been much more well received at Tech Blogs all over the Internet in comparison to the any Apple products released in the last 10 years. All you need to do is to go to any Engadget Apple article, and compare the comments to any KIN article comments. You will see that the KIN is praised much higher than the iPhone 3GS. Apple is just naturally hated, and this is proof.
With no support for other applications, there is no further potential to explore. It will be releasing this May, and it will obviously sell the same number of units as the amount of diehard Microsoft fanboys in the World. The new iPhone is stated to land this June or July, although this is trivial since the 2007 iPhone can run circles around this piece of rubbish.

Wait microsoft has fanboys i thought it was people that HATE microsoft and people that hate them a little less

The only plus I see of the Microsoft KIN is its size. It looks like you could put a strap on it and wear it as a watch. As a cell phone it doesn't seem too bad if the price is right.

First of all, what about those of us that don't need third party applications? In my opinion, and I'm not a Microsoft fanboy, this phone has started to move us back to the "smaller is better" ideal. Something which Apple has strayed far from over the recent years. Though it isn't exactly correct to call this a "social phone", it does get a few basic things done. What I enjoy most about this phone, is the fact that it has a whole lot of room to grow. I for one would much rather use a small, good looking device than a large unaesthetic device which has many functions most people I know don't even use. The iPhone phone is almost like selling an old lady an overpowered computer meant for gaming.
Apple is not just naturally hated; of course engadget is completely biased towards Microsoft, they've always been that way, but there also a lot of websites and tech blogs that are completely biased towards Apple. You are really only seeing this from one side of the spectrum. And from what I can tell your diehard Apple fanboy, so you're just as bad as any Microsoft fanboy. In fact I could probably go to a Microsoft forum, and they would all say that Microsoft is just naturally hated.
Microsoft and Apple both run a very healthy, competitive relationship with each other, and they both own a percentage of each others stocks.
As for the iPad, it's a revolutionary device, with it's easy to use interface it can change many things we do in today's world. From the way we interact with ATMs, to the way the education system is used to teach students for generations to come. When a new technology is released, critics look at its potential not what it actually is. The rest of the population however...
