A legitimate, convincing win by the Minnesota Twins against the New York Yankees? Impossible, test everyone for steroids.
Has anyone been voting for the All-Star game? Who'd ya pick?
1B Justin Morneau
2B Robinsin Cano
3B Evan Longoria
SS Elvis Andrus
C Joe Mauer
DH Vlad Guerrero
OF Ichiro
OF Carl Crawford
OF Curtis Granderson
I don't know enough about the NL, but if I had to this would have been my vote:
1B Albert Pujols
2B Chase Utley
3B Casey McGeehee
SS Hanley Ramirez (he's just hilarious)
C Brian McCann
OF Ryan Braun
OF Andre Ethier
OF Jayson Werth
But watching Teixeira, who's barely hitting .200 winning the first baseman vote by almost 150,000 votes is making me a misanthropologist.
Lastly, Phillies have scored 3 runs in the last 45 innings, what's up with that drought? :|

Agreed, I thought we all grew out of the "popularity contest" mentality once we graduated high school -- guess not! What frustrates me the most though is not even seeing the Reds Joey Votto (1B) within the top 5... Ridiculous. At least we've got until July 1st before polls close though. Fingers crossed that more sensible fans start voting and set these results straight.
And grats to the Phillies tonight lol, about time!
[size=10]When I first glanced over your post, I did a double take over Evan Longoria's name thinking you had written Eva Longoria at first. Dude's name gets me every time, I never seem to learn.[/h]

The Jays would currently be in first if they were in a crappy division. We're probably better than most teams in the NL right now.
Fuck the AL East. Fuck it to hell.

A ray of Tsunlight.
Once again we prove that while we're terrible...
We can sure beat the Cubs. Swept them the series before last, beat them 3-1 in the last series, and beat them again yesterday. (I was at that game)
We have no budget to speak of. But we sure as hell can stomp on the Cubs.
At least we have that...

While Ken Griffey Jr.'s retirement seemed a bit sudden to me, it makes sense. Man's had a long career in baseball, I miss his 90's days.

3RD PERFECT GAME GETS SPOILED LOL!!! Fucking ump blew that call on that play... This is why instant review would actually be good in MLB, for calls like this.

It's tradition. I'd rather keep it how it is.
Sucks for that guy, but the ump admitted his mistake (Rare as hell)
It'd turn into football. Every other strike (play) being reviewed over and over, fuck that.

Not necessarily, you can hold it to certain rules (such as a play at the bases only) like football where they have reviews only on certain things, and you can have 1 review per team. IDK, I like how it is now, but the fact that it can hurt a player like this is pathetic.

Hey, the dude got a Corvette for his troubles.
I think he'll be fine. Hard to feel bad for anybody who are living their dreams anyway. Oh shit, you made it to the Major Leagues, be happy. You've already done what few can.

I don't know man, even so, the guy got robbed.
I live in Southeastern Michigan, and people are pissed. I mean, first perfect game in the club's history, it's a pretty big deal to a lot of people. Just saying. It was clearly a terrible call, but there's no way it's going to get overturned, so everyone knows it was a perfect game and is calling it one, but it will never officially be one.
It's not going to hurt Galarraga's career, but all the same, it's an achievement that he deserves recognition for. I mean, it was the guy's first time in the the whole game, first perfect game for the Tigers, and 3rd perfect game in a season, which has never happened in MLB history.
I feel sorry for the ump, too, who can't do anything about it now, even though he knows it was bad.

This thread must be revived for the playoffs.
I'll leave this video here....

I don't understand how Justin Morneau can get a concussion in July and basically is shut down for the rest of the season. That's about 2 and a half months. And at the same time, Kevin Kobb of the Philadelphia Eagles can miss 2 weeks and be ready to play after that.
WTF???
I'm not a Twins fan at all (or a hater, no attachment at all) but when they are in a divisional series against the Yankees, I have to root for them. It just sucks that they can't put their best line up out there against the 400 million dollar payroll team.
And now they are about to lose after blowing home field advantage in a brand new park. Wow. Thank you Justin Morneau for being so soft.

Concussions work different ways for different people with different levels.
Kolb probably had a grade II concussion so we was out for a couple weeks. Morneau might have had a more sever concussion, so that's why.
Anyway, it looks like Morneau was suffering from Post-concussion syndrome. Some serious stuff there...
On a more positive note, Go Giants! Up 1-0 with Cain on the hill!

Where were those no-hitters when you were a Jay, Halladay? Clearly, he wasn't trying hard enough here.
Just another slap in the face to my city and crappy team.
... I kid. I love the man. Getting out of these sport hellhole was the best thing for him.

To be far.... He was going up against AL teams with a bunch of good hitters whereas the NL, you get some free outs at the bottom of the order.
Also.... My Giants... T^T I'm saddened.... We blew a 4-0 lead in the 8th... orz...
Then we blew a bases loaded 1 out chance in the bottom of the 10th by grounding into a double play with our best hitter at the plate...

We are in for some great pitching duels, especially in the Giants/Phillies series. It should be fun. Cliff Lee is untouchable, but so is Halladay, Hamels, Lincecum and the rest of the Giants rotation.
The Rangers have a shot, but I doubt C.C. is gonna be off twice. Damn it, GO RANGERS!!!
On a side note, I shudder to think what the Phillies would be if they had kept Cliff Lee but somehow got Roy Halladay in a trade.
