She's 64 years old. whenever she remembers, she likes to watch that show. do you know any old people who watch anime? what do they watch?

my father and his brother both were extreme otakus collecting hundreds of mechas and introduced me to macross and gundam when I was young

My dad loved to watch Bebop with me when I was younger. He'd always insist on staying up with me if I wanted to watch late night tv, so it was good either way.

I try to introduce him to some newer stuff too. We tried EVA together but he just didn't get into it (we watched to about 15 or so).
And somehow, even though he's a surgeon, Baccanno! was too gory for him! Lol...
I may try to introduce him to Tiger and Bunny this summer, he could enjoy that.

He's in his 60s now. :) He is also a big Ghibli fan, having gone to see the films because of my interest in them whenever one premieres stateside. We went to see Summer Wars at the IFC center in NYC after I saw it via fansub, and just had to see it on the big screen!

I think what initially got him interested was back when I enjoyed Pokemon so much as a kid. He tried to beef up on his Pokemon knowledge to keep up with me, hehe... sometimes he'd impress his younger patients with his knowledge of the game/show!
So yes, in many ways, while my father has no where near the same level of interest in anime that I do, he certainly tries to understand my love of it through his own eyes.

Yeah, a man his age can still appreciate art, but he doesn't see the purpose of dealing with jerks. He isn't really active on the forums anymore but I know he frequents Soba-Scans. I actually got to meet him before, he's a really nice man. He calls me and Fpod his grandchildren ;p

My mother has no interest in cartoons of any sort. My dad is a huge fan of american stuff like loony tunes, Archer, Family Guy.

My mom liked watching Inuyasha, Yu-Yu Hakusho, Bebop, and FLCL and FMA when they first aired on [adult swim].

My grandma used to like FMP when it air in a local tv show!

My ex-girlfriend's dad was a cool guy who played WoW and loved anime... and gardening.

I used to watch DBZ with my parents all the time. It was pretty cool, we used to sit around at the dinner table and talk about it once and awhile. Haven't really got them into anything else.

I still watch cartoons with my Mom when I go visit her. She loves Spongebob and Adventure Time.

My mother used to try read the DBZ manga I bought back in the day. She gave up cuz its way over her head. Nothing made sense to her.

My parents are quite skeptical toward EVERYthing I watch, and they will try their best to stop me from watching in case what I watch doesn't fit with their standards.

Well I'm one of the older anime goers so it isn't really that awkward that my mom watched a lot of stuff with me when i was younger( Gigantor, Astro Boy, original DIC Sailor Moon and DBZ)...later on she still always enjoyed anime with me from time to time as I got older like Galaxy Express 999 and others from time to time. She herself was and is always been a cartoon person from the original days of Looney Toons with her dad. (she is 56 this year) She has always been very open to TV shows...Animated or not when it came to me :)
