New Google Instant
What do you think of this implement

I was surprised when I had to google something only to see the results page already starting to be displayed as I typed, it's not really a big deal but it's interesting to say the least.
I like it.

And Linux is not a good alternative, ever. It's not even an alternative.I'd like to hear the reason(s) you think Linux isn't an alternative.
Well 95% of people using Windows (aka the general population) could never use Linux. Most of them are still having troubles figuring out Windows 7 (lulz). I have no problem with Linux, but it's not a good alternative or even within the realm of reality for most people.
Back to google.

Curious and Wondering
It's interesting, from a software application engineer's point of view. Other than that, it's another day at the office at Google.

It's a cool idea but it's slightly obnoxious. My friend describes it as smug. It just like Google saying "Look what we can do bitches."

In the off chance that I have to google something(every site I frequent is bookmarked) or even use google at that(my email is through GMX), it's really a meh kinda thing. Google is to search engines as windows is to the normal computer user. Take it or leave it it's not for me to decide, just really seems like a waste of time and effort making everything new and shiny looking when you could be trying to work out a way to make your actual search systems better.

I don't like it, its like google is trying to be all "did you mean this, only after the first word" typed in T and it was like "you mean tits or tricycle"

It's interesting, though I found it to be somewhat annoying.
I don't want to see all the 6 million possibilities - only the one I want.

Sadly, however, mind reading has not yet been fully implemented into HTML... so the best Google, or any search engine for that matter- claiming otherwise or not- can do is give their best estimate as to what it is you are attempting to locate.
Rest assured though, once browsers support mind reading abilities to the general public, I'll make another thread about it.
The main difference is that Google simply offers you the option to look through Ever. Single. Fucking. Search result, and scales them from most to least likely.
It's not dumping 12 million possibly relevant results on your lap and saying "Find it yourself."
Personally, a good percentage of the time I have an idea of what it is I'm looking for, simply not the means to locate it. As such, I don't need something giving me a short list of what I'm 'probably' looking for, and blocking everything else. Rather than letting me pick what it is I know I want from a list of everything.
Who the hell goes past page 3 very often, anyway? If you do, you're doing it wrong.

Yes, yes. It is a very 'Meh.' implementation, and in all likelihood it won't save you an extraordinary amount of time. However, it is something different. Something I'm sure most, if any, of you have not thought of before, let alone thought it would ever be used.
That is why I love Google. They do shit you didn't even know you wanted until they dropped it at your feet, and backed away slowly.

Apparently "porn" will give no results. None.
Also, vagina and penis give alternate search ideas.
They say it's for the kiddies.

Good point ImperialX. I used google to search for some Toheart 2 doujinshi since royal-hentai went down; That's when I discover FAKKU for the first time. Google Instant IMO though um, good concept but still needs improvement.

Interesting find there. You actually have to hit enter when typing in questionable(dirty, crudely sexual, racist) words.

Say what you wish, but 80% of you won't be here without Google. Could not have said it better myself, my friend.

I can type on average 100+ WPM, google instant tends to lag behind me.It still saves you 0.6 seconds every time you search since you no longer have to push the Enter key. That's an episode of anime every 2500 searches. It's still useful in the long run.

I really hope this is sarcasm.
Anyway, don't really care about google instant. No real difference to me either way since I use the toolbar from my browser to search.
What I do find annoying, and promptly disabled, was their new image search. Pain in the ass.

I usually use the browser toolbar, but this has already contrived to piss me off.
It seems nonsensical to me that it should give you different instant results on some searches than pressing enter; and for porn etc, is it sensible or censorship?
There's already been something of a storm from business owners, too, as specific search terms are all but dead under this system. Plus, if you've ever seen anyone over a certain age typing something, they were already missing the search suggestions and autocomplete because they tend not to look up until they finish. It just seems unnecessary.
