Here are the answers as they stand. But nothing will be final until i post the faq.
3. What can’t I submit?
Pornography. Huh, but Fakku is an H-Site? We know. We don’t mind adult stories, language, violence and nudity, just refrain from being explicit.
what are the deadlines?
- April 30 2009: Critique Deadline
- May 22 2009: Preliminary Deadline
- July 21 2009: Production/Final Selection Deadline
17. Does the illustration have to be gender specific, can it be any, as long as it’s an OC?
Bingo.
18. The pixel size, is it 3200w x 4700h or the other way around?
Portrait. But if you have a good reason to make it landscape don’t let us stop you.
19. Is ecchi/perverted illustration/manga allowed?
We like to think of it in terms of an R movie rating. Just be careful not to cross over into X.
20. How many page limit for manga and illustration per artist?
At this time its open.( give me a couple more days to think it over.)
21. Is 4 koma style manga acceptable?
Yes. Let’s see what you can do with it.

So I've never been a strong artist(I draw like an engineer: I can copy what I can see to some extent, but that is the extent of my skill), but I am a pretty good writer, and I would love to be involved somehow.
If someone who is gearing more towards manga needs a ghostwriter or an editor/story critic, I would be happy to work in that context.
Alternatively, if there is an artist who would like to work with me as a manga illustrator while I covered main writing duties, I have some ideas that I think are pretty interesting.
Either way, send me a PM if you are interested, and let me know exactly how you would like me to collaborate. I can also provide writing samples upon PM request if you would like to evaluate my technique and style.

@ Matatabi.. welcome
@tkhnoman.. ouch... dont worry about the size, it may change as i'm dealing with printers. that size was the template we were aiming for, which is robot. You do great work and it would be wonderful to have you to help push others(like myself) along by critiquing and competing.
@crimson.. i have a few printes in mind, the dates may change depending on the printers needs to have the books available for shipping during the first week of december.
@Preze 8 x 11 3/4 at 300 dpi. I might have had mine set to 400 dpi since i like to size down for print quality
If you have any questions you can add me to your aim: femmesketchbook, pm me.
One piece of advice is start early. If you have ideas get them down and spend an hour everyday. Zip or rar your files and post them for crits and suggestions. Beyond each of you competing we are here to help each other out and make this the best that you can do.

Alright Everyone gearing up for project submission, pick an artist you admire and print out some of their works to keep as reference to keep you going on the path to finishing.
If your stuck, do whats called master studies, emulate the artist you've chosen. Try to reproduce some of their pieces to see how they solved similar problems.

the one above is one of my personal goals for the pinup illustration I plan to submit. And yes like everybody I will have to subcome to the judging panel. It makes the playing field even, and forces us to try harder.
@tkhnoman: I look forward to your best. Game on.

I want to try those style also, so i might use this sketch:
Sketch-01
Yeah, i will just do a basic one, the perspective.
Mmm... I will start working on it now.
EDit: Eh, reference of course. But one of my teacher said that using reference is the better.

Awesome layout Tkhnoman, i think this benjamin guy from china is right up your alley. Give me a day or so and i'll scan a painting of his. i think it meshes well with your layout sense.
MRG: nice inspiration link.
Just an update:
Still finalizing some main points in FAQ, desinging a submission system and a review critique system.
I've got a printer lined up and about 2 as potential back ups.
I'm putting the pieces in place to get you guys printed. Now I need you to strap in and give me your best.

Now that i read again the FAQ, i feel a little weird for the "contest" thing. I mean this:
I don't think this is a good thing, that's just my opinion...
10. I got cut! Do I get another chance?
The short answer is no. The long answer is there will be a cover contest. The contest entry fee is $10 per person. Each person can submit three ideas for the cover in the entrance fee; each additional submission is $2. The competition will be fierce, you can expect people to work especially hard at making the cover of our first annual art compilation. There will be a site wide vote for our cover.
