Mycstea look this over i'd like to get your feel for my time line. I've never printed a book before and this is based on my research and concensus from printers i've looked into. If you or anyone with experience can take a look at the timeline, i'd be more than happy to move things back. I just want to be sure that we have time to produce the hardcopy. Please remember that people involved in this project are communicating asymetrically due to geographic location.

Actually, i'm also busy. Working as director, editor, and illustrator for a campus magazine. Or you can say i do everything instead of printing and distributing >.<
But still, there is a piece of art that almost finish.
I'm planning to do plenty of illus for it after all.
Hmm...
Actually, i also want to ask people... Will it be FAKKU calendar 2010?
If there will be, then the timeline is very good. We still have time to prepare for the calendar also.
(Learning from the trouble before, i'm also planning this to be Original one)
Will it be, f0dd3r?
But if you ask me, i believe it will. We do a hard work for it after all.
(Hehe... but if i remember clearly, my Kokonoe is not there... but since it's bad, so i'm happy because it's not there) :) :)

Ooh, awesome faq, I just got my tablet back so I will start some rough sketches. What I was wondering was if there would be a special section for the drawings that didn't make all minimized into a page or 2, like in the calendar. Will it be, f0dd3r?

9 weeks is very very very long.... well the rest are probably alright.
Personally think that the formatting should be done in a Illustrator file rather then PSD, with an extra 5mm expanded canvas just in case. This is so that the printer only needs to go through one nifty file, and also so that the cutters actually can have some Bleed space to cut the book into...
Go through maybe, 5 Proofreaders. this will save time on resends. And you do not want resends because more resends means more money. From a business prospective, you're losing one books for every resend you print, that's because you wasted money on the cost of one copy, then you pay money reprint one more. Imagine... 500 copies....
Ever thought of going through bookstores to carry them? Personally the book i was working on actually had Kinokuniya's support (before it failed due to logistical issues). So if it actually compliments some shop policies, you might actually be able to sell them in stores too.
Anyways, if i can skip the critic, i should be able to make it for the July deadline... so i presume it's free-topic? I wanna draw fanart T_T

Mycstea:did you factor in that the books have to be shipped to the us?
3-4 weeks.
Good point about the proof readers. That's how we'll set it up.
We will print these books with ISBN numbers, while I cant guarantee them through your local store we will do our best to get them onto Amazon.com
You can skip critique deadline, its not required.
Sorry about the fan art but that the problem we ran into with the calendars last year. all the material is copyrighted and we did not wan to chance it.
@somethingwong: Original material, use american tv ratings nothing past r.
@thknoman: do you guys publish an online version. I'd like to see what youre up to.
I am hoping that the amount of material we generate for the book we will have enough to do a calendar of original pinups.
The plan is to publish a 2010 calendar.
@azulE05: Don't worry about submitting similar stories. Just do your own thing.
There are three writes looking for artists in this thread.
PM them to hook up. Those of you who haven't done writing duties before take them up on their offer.
they are whitelion, uzumaki101 and taractis.

f0dd3r: This is going to be a very expensive project you know... It'll be best if you're sponsored or at least, paid for first... If not this artbook will be the most invested book you will ever have to pay for.
Also, 3 or 4 weeks? You'll need a warehouse/shop/big house to keep it at first in the first place if you're looking at 1000 copies (most likely the min. run). Shipping should be one of the least of your concerns.
All pages must be in multiples of 4, or rather they call it PP... Example 36 pages is 8 PP, 80 pages is 20 PP. I would suggest you sort that out early, just so you can budget.
Lastly, ISBN code is Very Very expensive to get in Singapore, i don't know about USA side. Don't hesitate to ask me if you have any other questions regarding book printings.

Thank you MRG :)
My submission wont be anything like that, im getting a wacom in april so ill be doing something a bit more better.
I was wondering, does it need to be my made up characters? Or do they need to be characters from animes/ mangas?

I will be trying to, I'm not that good, and school is making me very busy, to where I can't have a lot of free time to draw.

Almost finished one drawing, but feel so odd.
I used the part of it for my avatar anyway.
And if the email for submitting is settled, i will submit it as soon as possible.
