No drugs, no smoke, no booze, no casual sex=No girlfriend?

Right... I had a couple of relationships back in high school, but now that I'm in college, the girls do not really look my way.

Due to some past experiences, I never looked at the 'bad' stuff; until now. If I have to do all that to get a girl, perhaps it's worth a try.. or not?

Give me some help on this o Fakkers, and trust me, this ain't no troll post.

Well, I have a few thoughts on this, so here goes

1. In high school, kids are in relationships simply for the sake of being in one. The novelty of it is what is appealing, "Oh look at us acting all grown up." But the problem is that those relationships are built on diddly-squat, so almost all of them fail.

2. In college, kids want to have fun right? So the straight laced thing won't be very appealing to them. It will seem stuffy and boring to them, but don't the mistake of getting so immersed in having fun that you become a fool. That won't help either, you'll just be laughed at.

3. When you all get older, you will want something fun and meaningful, and that is where the "good-guy" thing comes in handy. A husband and family man HAS to be straight laced and squeaky clean, otherwise there will be some obstacles that you just can't overcome, no matter how hard you try.

Lastly, just give it time if you are afraid to try changing. Eventually you will be exactly what some girl is looking for in a guy, and if you are lucky, she will be the same for you. Hope this helped ^_^

Well.. I can tell you that my 2nd girlfriend was genuine. No doubt about it. We never parted; she was taken away from me.

But yeah, I guess I'm really kinda scared about changing into someone I don't know. Usually I'm the guy who takes their friends home after a party, difference being that I never ever let a single drop of alchohol touch me as I either drink juice or just talk my way through the party. To think that someday I might be the one who's taken home drunk both unnerves and amuses me.

Maybe I'm getting a bit hasty.. but I guess I'll take it easy for the moment.

Depends on what kind of girl you want, and where you're looking for her. Some women are into that stuff and if you aren't they won't be interested in you.

You should ask yourself what type of girl you want and where you should look for her first before you decide to sink money, time, and energy into destructive vices.

Do you have to do the bad stuff to get a girlfriend? Yes. IF you want a girlfriend who's into bad stuff.

There are an INNUMERABLE amount of places to find possible girlfriends. The common places in college are, unfortunately, bars and parties and clubs.

However, if you're not looking into doing any of that sort of thing(which, on a personal note, I'd say you'd be silly for at least not experimenting with, this is college, it's the only time that kind of shit's acceptable), then you can try other venues.

Try your school library. Find a girl that studies the same subjects you do. Not necessarily the same major, but someone interested in similar academic programs. Try other events that might happen at your college. My own college hosts comedians at shows from time to time, and while most girls that go to those are usually already in relationships, the ones who aren't are pretty easy to find, and they probably either really need someone to not feel alone(hence why they need to go to a show for entertainment)or they're just those types with a fun sense of humor.

Bare in mind you never have to drink, smoke, or do drugs or anything like that to meet girls. However you DO have to be somewhat social in making your attempts, as well as amicable to compromise considering what YOU like to do for fun, whatever that may be.

DO NOT CHANGE FOR ANYONE! You'll only be unhappy if you try to do these things just to attract someone who OBVIOUSLY isn't the right one for you if you have to change yourself so drastically just to attract her. There are tons of places to meet people, but unfortunately your age is counting against you. It is hard to find mature, settled-down people in college - usually this is the time frame where people go crazy and experiment, but not everyone is like that. I wasn't either. I ended up deciding to try to meet people online, so that it was a little easier to weed out the people I didn't want and/or wasn't compatible with, and go right to going on dates with people who matched my fundamentals. Maybe you should try the same? The world is a big place, but sometimes the people you want to meet are passing you by all the time - you just don't know until you try. Good luck!

You could do all that, and the result will not only be you becoming someone completely different from who you are, but also you getting a girl that gets shit-faced all the time and has higher chances of sleeping with some other bozos instead of you.

So yeah, if you're perfectly fine with the above two, go right freaking ahead. Otherwise, open your eyes and see that there are multiple ways to find girls that are more right for you.

If you can say no without feeling pressured to say so, then you just aren't someone who goes with that scene.

Your main problem seems to be that of looking in the wrong place. Or having the wrong mindset about certain girls.

And just because it is a common place to find girls doesn't mean it is the best place to find girls. And anything you do that goes against who you are will just result in an unsatisfactory, short term result.

You just seem the have the mindset of "I need a girlfriend." Don't jump into relationships just because you feel you need to be in one. Why not just try dating. Not pursuing her necessarily as a girlfriend, but say just going out and enjoying yourselves.

Attitude makes a huge difference. If you are trying for a relationship hard, they pick up on your desperation and it turns them off big time. If you're just looking to have a good night with some nice company, they're more likely to give you the time of day as you are coming off as "OMG I NEED TO DATE SOMEONE!"

If it turns into something more then cool. If not, then you had a good time with a member of the opposite sex and gain some good experience, heck you might even make a friend even if you don't make her your girlfriend.

I myself am in a similar boat (cept I found a girl) I don't like drugs, I wouldn't consider weed or anything, ever. I don't smoke (Have smoked a cigar before, cause I'm a classy fuck. other than that, I don't like smokers or smoking.), and I do drink on the odd occasion, because it's fun to drink socially..

I've managed to get girls.. I have a gf at the moment, who has similar feelings as me, which helps. Just stick it out, and you'll find that girl eventually.

None of those aforementioned things makes you more attractive as a partner. I'm not sure what it is with guys, thinking there's some.. magical sure-fire method to find love. If it's not happening, that doesn't mean it won't. It doesn't even necessarily have to do with you.

The most solid advice I can offer you is to join some clubs. Spend time in social settings doing things you really like. Chances are you'll meet a like-minded soul and spark something.

But for the love of god,
don't imbibe a substance or engage in an activity just because you want a girlfriend.

Aye, joining a club activity is a great way to find friends and possible partners. Maybe you'll get the situation where you accidentally serve a ball right into the back of your doubles partner's head and then bond during the moment when your applying ice to her head in your lap!

Doing drugs and having casual sex at parties is the best way to get yourself an STD. Proper girls don't like STDs.

I don't think ANY girl likes them. The proper girls will not touch you if you have one and they know it. Slutty girls probably won't take the time to find out ^_^

Don't try just to get girls. Try some things if YOU want to try them. Don't try them just b/c you think it'll help you out with the "ladies".

This is the only advice I can offer.
