Opinions on the new Fakku
Do you think the new Fakku is good?

So I left after the removal of the Loli and Incest category, because simply put, Jacob sold out like a lil bitch. and I come back to see, if anything its gotten worse. Now not only are they selling doujin, they have subscriptions. That's two more ways for them to gain profit, and to top off their greed they not Ad-lock the doujin before you can view it. its nothing an ad-blocker can't stop, but it kind of disgusts me how far this once glorious site has fallen due to greed and peer pressure.
what are your guys opinion on the current site and where it is headed compared to the old site?

1. Loli and incest are allowed on fakku you need to change your settings to see all of the controversial content. This was done in part for legal reasons since some countries outright band such genres.
2. Subscription service disables ads if you pay for it. I know that sounds terrible to people who want porn for free, but honestly the stuff they are supplying is great so don't knock it till you try it.
3. Fakku didn't cave to peer pressure nor did they sell out. They went from pirating to trying to sell and promote the distribution of goods that were never available legally to the public. At the time it was an opportunity not a death sentence. It has been said time and time again people hate the idea of actually paying for something, but if the product is good and the artists are getting the cut they fully deserve for all of their hard work then I don't see why it's such a big deal? I know I support it myself since there is no negative to any of this. Yes it costs money, but you look at it as if you take the money you would have spent on that one videogame, or that Starbucks coffee or even that order of take-out then you can at least try a month of subscriptions or buy one book (even digitally).
Also any site that pirates eventually will fall whether it be for legal reasons or funding. This is a nice alternative and a good chance for more products/goods if this works, I think it's been a rather interesting endeavor personally hence why I promote it, that and when I see something that is good I will say good things about it; never been a bullshiter (I suck at lying anyways lol).
Edit: also your poll Q's are biased, they do not reflect a serious discussion only your disdain for the fact that fakku isn't to your fancy anymore. The first Q appears sarcastic, the middle question is begrudgingly more neutral, and the third Q is incorrect entirely. If you make a poll just ask it more in a yes, no, maybe or other fashion.

so they added the famous internet joke to their website "gold accounts" so they can quite literally be a laughing stock of the internet community, and as for "pirate websites going down" I would like you to say that to notable sites such as Sadpanda and TPB.
but the truth of the matter is, once one site becomes corrupted by corporate greed, a new, better site will pop up in its place, point and note Pururin for example.

Pururin's owner is gone and has been gone for more then a year if you read the forums (I go to quite a few other hentai sites actually) and they're only being supported by ad revenue, the site will eventually die off if the owner doesn't come back due to maintenance issues and not paying for the web address (shame honestly I love that site quite a bit). And the amount of hentai sites that have come and gone is sadly astounding. Exhentai is probably one of my favorites atm next to fakku, but I have seen a lot of their content flagged and taken down due to legal reasons.
There will be more loli and incest content in due time, but there will be more content on here all of this is so new, Rome was not built in a day.
The pirate bay and sandpanda have been affected actually. If you see how many links are taken down and how much shit they've been hit with financially and legally, it's quite impressive they've lasted this long. Honestly I would speak my mind to any person regardless and I don't have an issue with TPB nor Sadpanda since I use both quite often. Try to be respectable when I can, but I have my opinions and don't mind if other's disagree, that's life.
Look I am not saying no to piracy, everyone and their brother does it in some way/shape/form, but were in such an entitled day and age where people feel like we deserve all of this for free. The notion of working hard for something has been lost and it is quite a shame. I still get things for free, but when I can I still purchase things and use my hard earned money for such a purpose.
Unless you've given fakku a chance I don't see how you can have an opinion that free is better. Free is easier and more content for sure, just look at streaming anime versus paying for crunchyroll, but I personally like to support business that try to bring content over from other countries. Japan actually just had a mass region lock on youtube where most of their videos are no longer available to watch. It's sad to see, but the more you legally promote/distribute the more chances you can possibly have to see more content.
Also fakku isn't greedy, as I said artist are compensated, they even brought artists over from japan to conventions for people to meet and such. Any money they have goes back into the business for the fans and they use the rest of the leftover money to pay bills like we all do.

I love how there are people who don't even consider for a fraction of a second that there's another way to look at change.
I'll just say this: If you think this all about getting more money then you haven't thought this through, like at all.
Jacob/FAKKU gets more money when:
He doesn't get sued for not complying with the content owners' wishes.
He doesn't have to compensate content owners for everything he publishes.
He doesn't have to pay salaries for multiple localization teams: more than a few people have been recruited to do high quality work. Even if he was paying them low wages that's still a boatload of money out of his pockets.
He doesn't have to worry about doing the localization i.e. hosting scanlator work costs him very little.
He doesn't have high standards for his products, and yet FAKKU published manga is some of the best on the market.

Uncensored content and better physical content is worth the price from me a person who never read much on fakku since it had nothing new unlike the sad panda now known as /a/ustim panda. To tell you the truth the lack of a dl option for the mags are null to me but alast i can find them later. I just join it for the gold and jacob sent me an email to join so meh i just stop eating pandera once a month or two starfucks lattes.
Plus the books are top tier level. Even project-h had to step up there game in content and quality. 20$ for a newsprint shit ink and shit paper vs glossy printer, offset ink on very good paper which is near archival if you don't leave it in shitty air and sun. Seriously no hentai or manga uses archival rag. Art books barely use a low quality archival paper.(photographer and former student in the old offset class in college)
Jacob could of did shit paper/ink reminisce of tokyopop, but he did it better then the japanese tanks in quality. Now if he did some extras or my guro tanks i'll suck his jew stick.

Incest is my most liked tag and was Fakku's biggest tag, much larger than vanilla. Loli here only became a thing recently, the removal of incest felt like this

Although I'm inclined to agree with everything Misaki (and well almost everyone else) says I understand where the frustration is coming from.
Also meta-threads about Fakku should go in the support section. There's no "serious discussion" to be found here or in the constant "JEWCOB SOLD OUT" threads. The only people who really seem at loss is those who for some reason are solely dependent on Fakku for porn.

Fakku's a website, which cost money. Jacob is trying to make his passion a career, I admire that.In order to grow the site, they have to make revenue on this. I don't mind subscribing, it's not too bad a price and the content I get is content that is brand new, and translated. I am all for supporting the site in my little way. You need money to run things, that's the long and sort of it.

People here are ignoring the fact that, socially, Fakku is approaching tumblr circlejerk status. To a degree I understand that it kinda makes sense; it's a porn site, and the people here are here to quite literally whack it anyway, but they ought to recognize the hugbox it's becoming in a far more conscious fashion.
It's alright to put some money into the things you like, particularly if that gives rise to an increase in quality. However, if you take your eyes off the porn for a moment you'll see the social weeds that are growing across the board. No, I'm not referring to the repeat threads, quite the opposite infact.
Look at those mustard-colored nicknames for example; what's this to do with porn? Taking them at face value there's no problem obviously, but try imagining a scenario in real life where someone assigned themselves a title. It's fine and dandy if it serves some occupational or administrative purpose, but seeing people who are presumably adults write down that they're "the coolest kid on the block, yeah!" next to their handle is cringeworthy as fuck. It's just one of many pats on the back Fakku's going to give you till they've bent you over far enough for you to suck your own dick while they pull cash out your widespread asscheeks.
Obviously I've got a more meaningful beef than that though; look at the amount of the site that's isolated from free users. It makes that they're excluded from the for-sale content they didn't purchase, but nonetheless it's clear there's a deliberate separation game being played in order to give paying users their own personal social bubble. This, in turn, promotes inbred opinions (as ironic as that sounds given the state of incest hentai on the site). Combined this with the "you suck my dick and I'll suck yours" upvote system, and you get a recipe for ever growing circlejerk, causing more and more people to be persuaded into spending more money than they may have otherwise done.
If you really think there's absolutely 0% jewing going on, ask yourself; where's the option to search exclusively for free content? Where's the option to filter out subscription-only material? Wheres the option to look at content which doesn't require a bookstore purchase? A means of avoiding NTR was developed well enough to keep the vanillafag/NTRfag shitposters from slowing down potential circlejerking, but a means of actually filtering out content I can't even read is nowhere to be found.

This happens when anything goes to paid for content while still trying to have certain parts free. At some point there will be more free content on here, but that's not a possibility given that all of the content is still too new on here as well as everything in general is still new.
Also the title thing was just done for fun and was something users had requested quite a few times before they did it so to say that this is some ploy for ass kissing and feeling cool, talk to users on here that have requested this long ago in the past lol.
Other then that, don't really feel all that different from when shit use to be free, still me & the forums still seem the same to me honestly from when I first came. If I couldn't pay for anything I'd still stay for the fourms since they're free and use other sites (still do that now actually lol). I do the same with crunchyroll, I chill on the forums (very rarely though since that place isn't as fun to me, people aren't as interesting to talk to) and I use sites like gogoanime or kissanime to watch anime.
People that see you have to pay for anything will be uspet because that is the day and age we are in, everyone wants things for free or cheap. At some point there will be more free content on here, but in the meantime it's just not possible atm, 2016 will be an interesting year to see how all of this plays out.

The Anti-NTR brigade will never stop their bitching because they don't have enough brain cells to stay out of tags they don't like.
But yes, lack of filtering options is a huge detriment, and more than likely Jacob or who ever is in charge of the managing the search functions for the chat is woefully incompetent or keeping the subscription items in there as form of advertisement.
The site has improved in many ways since the Wani deals but it's very bare-bones.

I-I'm not jealous or anything- but the fact that it was requested beforehand doesn't mean the fulfillment of that request isn't promoting the formation of a culture bubble. That's like saying it's not circle jerking if the guy asked me to jerk him off beforehand.

Admittedly I rarely looked at the forums prior to money coming into play, and I wouldn't know if it was already as it is beforehand. Regardless, the fact that all the sections on Fakku seem to have a relatively similar (if not the exact same) userbase combined with the fact that I get rather different opinions than I would from other sites suggests that even if it's always been this way, it is somewhat cut off.

What's that to do with me? Yes, within Fakku there exist individuals who voice unfair complaints. My complaint isn't that there are a couple things I'm expected to pay for; I've got a sams club membership for havens sake, it's not a payment method I personally despise or something; it's that whenever I visit the site (roughly once a week at this point) less than half the content on each page is something which I can make use of, and much of the free works are things I've read elsewhere anyway. If there isn't much free content, I'd like to at least be able to quickly flip to the front page and actually see that there isn't much available, as opposed to having to flip through multiple pages just to realize that nothing's here anyway.

I could use more Hex Maniac, incidentally she comes up quite a bit if I look up Tomoko. You seem to have rather... precise tastes, I guess.
Anyhow, tag sorting is something plenty of for-free sites have managed to do fine, and it's definitely something free users ought to have access to. I mean, you don't charge people to browse the isles for heaven's sake; I honestly would equate that to charging people for permission to use WASD to flip through doujins.
Demanding money for products is fine though, and may be the case that what I'm addressing is just "woeful incompetence" is the underlying issue, but if that is the case, demanding payment for woeful incompetence still kinda falls under the ripoff category for me. Left and right I'll see spenders willing to defend Fakku on their honor, but for some odd reason people dishing out green aren't actually that willing to make demands; this more than anything is what makes me feel uneasy.

I guess free library for other user will be a must for this site to maintain its large amount of users.
If the scanlations will not be around in the future, what will happen with the existing scanlated chapters? Will they be gone as well?
On my opinion on the the new Fakku, I really noticed that there are a lot of non-free contents on the home page. For a free user, this may seems intimidating.

I've had an account for 7 years, check my profile. Welcome to reality, kid.
DMCA takedowns over the past few years have torn apart several fansubbing groups as well as communities, whether you agree with it or not is irrelevant. Props to Jacob for keeping the community alive under that pressure. I would assume the majority of the money for the things sold are passed along to the magazine where these works originally are published from.
Comparing the current state to before, my only real complaint is there's no compilation of items that have been removed. Other than that, Fakku is still the defacto english Hentai website out there with the best UI and the largest english collection. No one wants their creation to die and Jacob has done a fine job surviving.

I do wish people would try to learn the reasoning the site went down this route rather than let your emotions do the talking and post bullshit.
Jacob's always wanted Fakku to go legit. The DMCA was an opportunity to make that a reality. If we hadn't compromised we'd have been shut down. No more Fakku. We're not the only site/group that got affected by DMCAs, but we are the only one (that I know of) that struck a deal that was mutually beneficial to both parties; Japanese artists get paid what they're owed, we get uncensored porn, and we still get freebies to boot.
There are other sites for porn (l2ExHentai). To solely rely on Fakku for that was doomed from the off.

My Fakku account may be less than a week old, but I've been lurking as an anon since 2008 at least. I loved anime as a little kiddo, I still remember staying up late in my grandpa's living room when I should've been asleep so I could watch Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. Little did I know, it was Saturday night, so instead of Robot Chicken, I got Cartoon Network's first airing of the first episode of Naruto instead. And boy, was I hooked from the drop!
As a 13 year old, magical ninja wizards were pretty fucking cool. A couple of months later, I heard of this thing called hentai from a friend, and surprise surprise, googled it and found this site. It was pretty darn cool to me at first, and being all hormonally super-charged and stuff I was gung-ho about free porn, as you can well imagine.
As much as the new way the site is organized with subscription content and bookstore stuff might be tough to get used to, I'm sure that Jacob and the rest of the gang are going to do their absolute best to make sure that Fakku is still a great place to be if you wanna look at some H-manga. Just have to have a little faith and patience, and not flip your lid before you even see what they have in store, okay?
Coincidentally, Visual Novels and manga/anime regardless of their age demographic, will only spread outside of Japan/wherever they're made if it's financially worthwhile to the people that make them. If the creator doesn't see profit to be made to justify the effort, why would he even bother trying to sell his goods in America, or the UK, or any other country for that matter? Why not just publish it in his own language and make his profits selling it in the country he lives in? I don't mind paying a little bit of money every month if it's going to encourage artists to spread their work around the world a little, :)
