Pet names: turn-off or turn-on?

depends on which ones i'd have to say. "honey" is a lot more of a turn on than honey bunches, or cutie pie, or anything else that requires more than one word or more than 2 syllables

I'd rather call them by their name, it's a lot more personal, especially if you use some sort of tone.^This
Works the other way around as well. I enjoy being called by my name rather than something stupid. Joshy or Joshua is acceptable though.
You should know how that feels Yuri ;D
Yep, I got the Joshy one a lot from a girl I was with 3 times. She really messed me around, never having that happen again. I was pretty naive.

Anything too cutesy or dumb like baby, fluffy puffs or something like that....(Funny think I named my cat baby. -_- But only cause if I really thought of anything it'd be a japanese name and I didnt want to name my cat yuki or something at the time..being super shy and all and not wanting to weird anyone out.)
-_-
So putting people who have no business wiff me and mah kitties name aside I would go with either a japanese (maybbe weeb and make it an anime character xD) Or a well thought out name that has meaning or something simple thats cute but like I said not snuggly puffles. -.-"

Neither really. I receive no sexual arousal from a pet name.Bet you would if that pet name was Dragon Rider!

Also, who calls their partner 'shorty'?
No one, but males sometimes call their partner 'shawwty'.
Both are horrendous.
I see zero appeal in those titles, either... I mean, I GUESS if your partner is shorter than you?
But it seems a little demeaning @_@
Then again, I hate it when guys call me a range of pet names in general (who I do not know intimately), so it tends to ruin all of them for me.

I'm not fond of them. Only a few select people may refer to me with a nickname, and even then I restrict it to only a single variant. No more than that one nickname.

Me and my gf are not really into pet-names, even though, sometimes, we call each other with joke names that we came up with.

Turn off. If it sounds childish I can't deal with it, the only 'pet names' I have from people are ginger and hun, and I don't find those to be arousing in any way. Just call me by my name and I'm good.

I suppose it would depend on the name imo...For example the name "baby" just doesn't sit well with me because it is unoriginal and overused. Also feels a bit distant imo. Though I suppose that all depends on context too, I do recall Kurugaya from Little Busters! having a name for the main character that I didn't really find bad at all, and somewhat endearing in a weird way lol.
Real life example exists but I don't think it qualifies the criteria.

Definitely a turn-on, she calls me darling and I like it, I don't have any other nickname and I'm okay with it so I love when she calls me darling as much as I love her <3

I use pet names with my girlfriend, but not in public. For me, I like it cause it makes me feel more exclusive to my girlfriend. For her, I think she just finds it cute and she loves cute stuff xD

The pet names I use with my husband don't annoy me, likely because they are inside jokes anyway.
Shit like baby, sweetie, honey and the like, irk sthe hell out of me though.

As for me it´s not really a turn-om or turn-off~
Also I don´t like it if it´s used overly too much~

Hmm, I'm not against pet names. Though, I think, to me at least, its more of showing affection than a turn on. I liked being called stuff like sweetheart and babe. I think it was a nice way of showing a closer connection to someone. Cutesy stuff aren't very big with me, and I don't think they'd be all that great during sex. If anything, having your name screamed out during sex would seem to me as more of turn on. ;)
