I did watch some of the documentary of android development program especially the one in Japan. I think the main issue is getting past the 'uncanny valley'. Currently the androids creeps me out with their weird unnatural human movements not to mention the lifeless eyes that are looking at you.Eventually those kind of things will be solved. It is a fact that in the last fifty years things that were considered impossible were achieved with science.
I agree on that though I hope it would not take too long....
On android for sexual purpose? I'm sure when androids have reached the level of high technology it would happen. Kinda reminds me of the movie Bicentennial Man where the android request one guy to make a male sexual organ for him and to add the feeling of pleasure of doing sex inside his personality chip, i think.
I saw that movie, not whole, but the android ends being the reason of groundbreaking medical achievements. But I was thinking more in the line of anime, even in the most 'present time' ones the androids seems to have pleasure centers or sensors. Once again To heart as an example.

I see, taking to heart as an example as of 'present time' I have to admit its quite nice to have androids such as that. Still from that example it still require androids to have emotions in order to actually shows pleasure when engaged in sexual activity which seems can only happen far in the future.

Once again bringing To heart to the table. More info inside the spoiler box, read at your will.

100 years ago, what computers do would've been considered magic. Who is to say that they won't be completely revolutionized by the turn of this century? That's pretty much my argument in support of robots and human AI.
I'm supported and inspired by this guy and his book, "The Ghost in the Machine." An excellent read if you're interested in the subject, though the "future predictions" section of his Wikipedia article sums it up pretty well.

Thinking about emotions in computer is gonna be some pretty hard work.I mean emotions are not that easy to program. It's very very complicated and mixing it with the personality which is individual is really really hard stuff.if it is possible then the world would need the top of the top of the top Psychiatrist and Computer Programmer.Combining both to make emotions in robots.
Imagine this.2 machines in love.SPARK*SPARK*SPARK* Lubricating Oil* Friction*Friction*Friction*Over Heat*Recharge*Spark*Spark*Spark.............

Or they can just do a plug and play.

We cannot dismiss the possibility of cloned/artifical tissue being used on them as in terminator, or trully artificial tissue that feels, acts, taste?, works and has all the properties of real tissue (flesh, skin and everything else), as Multi and the other maid robots from To Heart.I know To heart is a h-game or maybe just a dating sim I forgot, but if I am not wrong Multi is a valid target, so she has to be anatomically correct and to certain extent functional (as anyone with a healthy level of hentai exposure think, her fun and interesting parts).
Something that shares that many qualities with human flesh is probably cloned material, at which point it would be simply considered a clone with the odd mechanical part here or there making it a cyborg, that isn't a gynoid, even if the tissue is artificial it still isn't really a robot that looks like a human (android/gynoid) it's a living creature. Artificial but so are some clones.
I'm not at all against the idea of a fully functional gynoid, I in fact hope that in the future some people will be assigned these for "mating" purposes, that way we can either take someone out of the gene pool or we can alter their genetic material into something a bit more useful to society, just generally improving the overall intelligence and physical ability, nothing too serious just keeping them from failing as hard.

I think that it is inevitable that technology will make breakthroughs
but i could just wish that this androids will aid us to our daily lives unlike the terminator.

But even if they do help us, it comes down to humans showing respect to the robots themselves. We don't want the matrix shit happening to us.

I remember watching a video on youtube showing a robot holding a hand of person and walking along with her successfully as she took random turns and walking speed was kept up successfully.
Also, the robot could walk from one room to other room navigating correctly plus while carrying a tray with two cups of coffee and opening a door with one hand while holding a tray. And putting the tray down on the table properly.
That alone is a feat of achievement XD

Whenever Im at Watertower Place in chicago, I see this poster with a robot girl. I cant read what the hell it says because its all in kanji, but it kinda looks like Hatsune Miku. I dunno if its like a sexbot or what, but next time im there I'll take a picture of it and post it to see if anyone can read it for me...
