Stepfather - 4/10 Bad Rip off of Disturbia..

Just so you know, The Stepfather is a remake of a movie that spawned a whole lot of sequels. All of which have the same basic plot, I believe. So, yeah. Makes sense that it sucks.

Burnt Offerings
7/10
A horror movie from the 70s, the movie was a refreshing change from the violence-focused shit on the present, but it just wasn't that good. Not bad but simply not great. Bland, average.

A family moves into a huge house for the summer for a very low price. The house is possessed by something and kinda makes them crazy. Nothing over the top, but it does have some good, suspenseful moments. The best part is the last five minutes, where all hell breaks loose, and we get some really good images. I don't want to spoil anything so I can't describe what happens, but I can say that it is awesome. I'm surprised it never made Bravo's lists of scariest movie moments. It definitely beats a lot of the shit on those lists.

All in all, it's not a bad movie, and a person may really enjoy it, but not enough happens. If you try watching it and end up bored, skip ahead to the end.

Veronika Decides to Die 7/10

The only reason I even watched this is because I think Sarah Michelle Gellar is a hottie, but that doesn't mean this is necessarily a bad movie. It's the story of a girl who tries to commit suicide because her life hasn't turned out the way she wanted and her subsequent stay in a mental facility where she is told she only has a short time left to live. It's...I guess sort of a love story, lots of symbolism and imagery, and it has a quaint feeling to it. Endearing, if I had to pick a word, not exactly spectacular, but quite a few great scenes that I enjoyed.

Avatar 3d

The movie itself was alrite but not as good as every one is saying it is.

The 3d part of it is cool now that the color isn't screwed, but certain things are a little out of focus and enouy the fuck out of my eyes.. @3@

Dead Wood

3/10

It's some stupid British horror movie that's so crappy, I'm not going to bother finding a picture for it.

Four friends go into the woods, they meet a strange woman, and then they start disappearing. It's boring as hell and not good at all. When the people disappear, it's not interesting in the least. Seriously, a person goes underwater (a game with another person, seeing who can hold their breath the longest), and then he doesn't come back up. That's it. That's how he disappears. Goes underwater, doesn't come up. Fucking bullshit.

It's lame. There's nothing redeeming about it. Even if you love stories about people lost in the woods, don't watch this. It's a waste of time.

The Gamers and The Gamers: Dorkness Rising

9/10 for the first one, 8/10 for the second.

It's two movies, but the first one's more of a short film as opposed to the second one that's closer to an actual movie. The first movie is basically a game of (not) D&D, playing all the stereotypes and jokes that a person who has played it would probably recognize, all done with practically zero budget. The second movie is a movie about the lives of the people involved with the game. It's a bigger budget movie, and is similar to the first one in that it draws out all the jokes a player of (this time actual) D&D would recognize, but the characters are more developed.

I dunno, I enjoyed them because I got the jokes, so your opinions may vary.

Edit: Dorkness Rising also has the best scene involving Pirates, Ninjas, and Pizza EVER.

ROADHOUSE! 9/10

I finally saw this, I guess it's about time. As most people probably know, this is a violent story about a bouncer played by Patrick Swayze who takes a job at a very rough n' tumble bar in order to turn it around, but he is impeded by local thugs at almost every turn. Very violent, at least for the time it was made, with a decent amount of one-liners and some fun action. It's a very guy-movie that teaches the lesson that violence will solve all your problems. Roadhouse.

I actually preferred Dorkness Rising to the original.
But that was not the last movie I had the pleasure of viewing. That honor would belong to "Pulp Fiction" which I rather enjoyed. My friend said it was awesome, so he showed it to me and as I have stated before... I simply had to concur.
I would give it a 8/10. I can't quite describe what it was I liked about it, I just enjoyed it.

I wasn't the best movie but it's a fun movie and it's worth a watch if you like movies that are a bit silly.

Alice in Wonderland

i don't know how to rate this one...Johnny Depp acts well, the graphic and scenery are good but the movie itself still not impress me...

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland
4/10

The movie does not really impress in anything but visually, the environment is nice, the costumes are beautiful and the effects are really well done, as it should be in a movie made by Burton these days.

The story is sadly quite weak, an attempt to combine both Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass to make an original story. And yet half of the movie is extremely close to Disney's old version of the story.

The acting might be good, but Johnny Depp totally ruins the Mad Hatter. The Mad Hatter is supposed to be raging mad, not some whiny douche who slips in and out of dementia.
The only two who put of a good act is the girl playing Alice, who fits the role quite nicely, and the few brief moments where you see the March Hare.

If you're a Burton fan it's probably worth to see, as you should have done no matter what. But it wasn't worth spending money on seeing.

(I admit to being slightly biased, as this project more or less screwed the American McGee's Alice project over.)

Thank you for the review, I was waiting on someone to see it and confirm my fears. I love Jonny...but that role seemed so wrong for him even in the very beginning, it's good to get confirmation on that so I don't have to waste my time. Also? I would have preferred American McGee's Alice anyway -_-

The Devil's Tomb with Cuba Gooding Jr.

5/10

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Devil's_Tomb

It seemed like a cheesy SyFy channel movie. It was all around poor quality, even Cuba's acting. It was directed by the son of Sean Connery, which, coupled with the presence of Cuba Gooding Jr., was the only reason I gave this movie a chance in the first place.

I wouldnt recommend it unless you like crappy movies about frozen fallen angels and their zombie followers.

And btw, what the hell happened to Cuba's acting career?

Black Cat, White Cat by Emir Kusturica
8/10

Damned good movie. I've meant to see this one for years, and it lived up to all of my expectations.
The acting is not the best that you've ever seen, but that really doesn't matter since the humor is the best I've seen in a long time.

I recommend that all of you who don't mind watching low-budget movies, and have a sense of humor watch this movie.

Update, no use for a double-post.

12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose (1957 movie directed by Sidney Lumet)
7/10

Nice movie, famous old movies are usually great and this one is no exception.
The movie is about 12 members of a public jury who's mission is to judge a 18 year old kid accused with murdering his own father.
A movie that brings forth the topic about prejudices, flawed arguments and ignorance. And also how selfish people are, as there is a people in the jury who changes their votes just to get out of there as fast as they can, indifferent about the fact that they are holding a mans life in their hands.

2009 Star Trek.

Much better movie than I was expecting. Pretty awesome. 9/10.

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994) - 7/10

This was an ambitious movie, squeezing a hell of a lot into two hours, and while it wasn't perfect, I think it did a good job. As long as you know the real story of Frankenstein before watching it, that is. Otherwise, you're probably going to be confused as all hell.

The movie follows the book closely (though it does deviate a little), so you'll see a monster that can talk and plan its actions. You'll also find moral and psychological terrors instead of a lumbering giant about to rip your head off. On the downside, you'll see a lot of Frankenstein's life (the first half of the movie), but I really only think that's bad if you're watching the movie for the monster.

Dantes Inferno an Animated epic,

Forum Image: https://www.fakku.net/image-404/images/114446-PMQZAMV.jpg

8-10.

A movie based off the game, and have never played the game but the demo, i was surley surprised with how it turned out, I always figured it was more of a god of war rip off but i was shocked how it was nothing like it, in the sense of many ways.
The actors were good and the fights scenes were awesome.
The way they went through hell though was... rather quick, they cut off many parts and how Dante and Virgil changed in their figure was rather confusing, I guess maybe the game would explain more?
All in all i would say its worth the watch and ill keep it on my HDD just to show my friends!
