Role-Playing on FAKKU

Many users and I have considered the possibility of starting up a Role-Playing sub-section within the forums. This would most likely be a light writing based story section in which those participating could work together to create a meaningful and fun story to experience with each other. However, if the section is to be created, it has to be seen as something the users would be interested in and also want to participate in.

Role-playing, in this case, is the act of story-telling through the combined effort of communal participation through taking the roles of personally created characters. The specific rules and guidelines of potential role-plays would change and be subject to those who create one, which could be anyone with a fine enough idea to work.

So, I ask you to kindly take this poll in which to show the community your stance on this topic. Thank you for your time and here are some benefits to role-playing in general:

-Role-playing can help you improve your writing ability
-Role-playing can be a great activity to boost your creativity or show it off
-Role-playing can create a strong sense of belonging to the group you participate with
-Role-playing can be as fun an activity as a sport or game with a combined use of reading and writing
-Role-playing creates a sense of productivity and can be as relaxed or intense as you make it

It's a fine idea, but i can't imagine people taking it seriously

mods would be around to remove posts that didn't meet the serious nature of whatever game (when requested).

It would be easier to separate RP threads from run-of-the-mill chats, and mods would have easier time in watching over it, since all RP would be in one place, rather than having to look all over to find and see if they're behaving.

Sounds great. But it would need a clear set of rules, and an assignment of rights. It would need to have ideas for plays, and applications. Like f.e. I want a play with this topic, and these roles. Then people apply and are voted (by the starters of the play), and then only those people have the permission to write in the role playing thread. We would also need a communication platform explicit to the players, apart from the thread.

The best thing to start out with would be a sub-forum 'Roleplay'. However, I don't know if this forum has already the functions necessary, but a group-messaging system as well as thread-specific rights would be useful functions in general.

I don't see why there shouldn't be a section for it. even if only a few members actively particapate, i'm sure many more would read it. perhaps make a subsection in the existing writing section.

This would be fantastic ,but the mod for this would likely need to be insanely dedicated to it our the section will soon be filled Mary-sue's ,cybering, and trolls ruining the story

Definitely up for it ^_^ I was even on other forums solely to roleplay. I feel as if there are a fair number of people who know the ropes well enough to start good threads and storylines.

I'm definitely up for this, used to have other forums I visited for RP purposes, but they've degraded into who can kill whom the fastest and in what way (Oh and unlimited ammo! Wee!).
Only ever had participated in two good RP forum stories and those were almost 8 years ago.

Sounds pretty fun actually. Of course within the rp sub section, have more options on different RP, such as action, comedy, etc

RPing's fun, but I rarely have time to do it.

Now, in relation to the moderation of this sub-forum, consider me hasty but it might be worth making someone a moderator only to that forum though. It will avoid giving hassle to the current moderators, and the moderator has to be someone who cares a great deal about the sub-forum.

But yes, bring on the RP'ing I say.
