Role-Playing on FAKKU

Well, to be honest the only roleplaying I ever found enjoyable at the very least had a sexual undertone or was full-on cybersex, so I can't really say that I'd care either way about roleplaying on Fakku because I wouldn't likely enjoy whatever incarnation it would be.

i would honestly be very interested in roleplaying on fakku. i haven't really done it for a while, so i think i might be getting a bit rusty. a new RP section would give me a chance to exercise my imagination and creativity.

As far as I can tell Jacob is unconvinced it's a good idea, I'm not sure what else I can say about the matter to him. I showed him the poll and the numbers, it really is a matter of you guys finding another way to convince him.

Well, I'm not personally interested in this, but what about something along the lines of a trial on an IM service?

Something like a group of people interested in the idea forming a giant group conversation on Skype or something to give an example of how it would be conducted and what not. Something that can then be shown to Jacob and the rest of the staff of an example to show that the members interested could behave accordingly and act responsibly.

Couldn't one try this out on the CTFG section?

'round the boards of 4chan, they often make "trial boards" as experiments to "broaden the scope of the site". Why doesn't Jacob try a trial forum? If stat numbers aren't good enough, try to experiment with the users for, say, a month or two to see where it goes. You could easily delete the forum afterwards if it still doesn't convince him.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's up to us to show him anymore unless something drastic happens and a heavy desire for it arises. I PM'd him the request months ago (that he saw, you can tell when people see your PMs), Waar made it known to him months ago, important moderators, admins, and users have spoken in support of it and he just simply ignored the whole issue beyond a joke response.

The thing is that this is not hard to implement. Jacob just uploaded a tag system and although that is also not too difficult of a web script task, or maybe it is and I just don't know, creating a section is among one of the simplest and easiest things to do on a forum, simply create a section with a title and subtitle and let the community have fun. The problem is that Jacob clearly does not want to do it and I don't know why. The only thing I know is that it's not because of difficulty, even though he is very busy, and it's not because of exposure, because he's seen it.

So, best case scenario; he delegates the responsibility to a mod who oversees it who cares about it more than him. Worst case scenario; it never gets implemented and we just may do it in the Writing section unofficially anyway. At this point, I don't want to bother him with it if he doesn't want to do anything about it because that's wasting his time and is probably annoying.

I'm not gonna beat a dead horse with this (Disclaimer: I did not imply that Jacob is dead, nor did I imply I was beating him if he was...Haha, cause he is part horse?..Anyway...) Although maybe more support would wow him somehow, I don't know. I've seen him respond on much less important threads, so I don't know what it is with him not being clear on this matter. I only feel bad because I know for a fact it can be handled well and I was and still am willing to help it be awesome. I feel bad because Jacob doesn't see that as important enough to respond to. What are you gonna do? I'm gonna keep waiting because there's not much else aside from starting without official consent. I'm unsure how douchey of a move that would be, though that may be the trial that was being considered.

Honestly, the idea is intriguing but I would be absolutely horrified to see the attempts made by some of the forum members on this particular subject. Maybe some ideas are just best left unrealized ~ :)

lol, I see what you mean. Maybe there should be a rule like: "If over 60% of your total posts are in IB, you are auto banned from the RP section, barring special dispensation"
