Role-Playing on FAKKU

The RP will allow Mahou shounen, in other words, you can be male, and I plan to write the terminology on the first page post and may link to the wiki pages for giving better understanding to the ones willing to play. And I'd encourage anyone to join of course; whether they watch it or not.

But while I give away the mechanism/terminology of the game, I'd really want the players to be in-character. And I plan to have either 9 slots or 6 slots for the game, high chances of the latter for not happening. Obviously there will be quite some changes from the original, despite the same terminology.

And no, I do not desire to allow any existing characters from the anime or manga to be picked. I want original characters. Also, characters of age higher than 17 will not be allowed (just wanted to spill this information).

Depends on the subject, but personally I detest participating in RP threads, so I'm not going to vote since I'd be biased.
There's a good number of people who enjoy them though depending on the subject.

I was part of a certain gaming community a few years back, I was an active forumer and actually became a subject of hatred by many people for my views on dealing with in-game problems. For being "effective yet still immoral." I don't care about morality, I promote results, and if results deter morality then so be it as long as it in some way aids the majority (The problem was foreign users causing problems for users in the US/CA, in which I had "immoral" ways of dealing with them but that's not too important).

Anyways, most of my enemies were active participants in RP threads in that community. I hadn't paid much attention to RP threads in the past but I began to notice that my name was being used in them by my enemies, I was usually cast off as some sort of parasite/villain/ingrate in them. So I then eventually began to realize that RP threads in a sense evoked a person's fantasy to create an idealistic image for themselves and others.

Realizing that concept and how people can manipulate them to deterriorate others' understanding of their surroundings/environment or community, and even their intelligence as it stands alone, I began to detest them due to my enemies' actions.

Simply put, I realized that RP threads could be used to either be useful or useless.

I hope I don't discourage you, and if you do decide to create one soon or in the future I have high hopes that it teaches people something, how to deal with situations, being realistic although within a fantasized world, etc.

I hope you kind of get the gist of what I'm trying to say. Of course, all of this is on a personal level though.

I'd like to but I don't actually have the time to do something like that. I don't get to visit Fakku as much as I used to.

Maybe, as I run my two RPs (one of them is kinda dead), plus I'm quite busy with animes and such, wouldn't want to add too much to my plate, unless I can tell that the RP will be successful and will go well, instead of dying out fast.

Yes, the reason a section hasn't been crafted yet is mostly due to apathy, somewhat due to laziness. I won't judge because I'm also a busy guy in my own life as well, however there are a couple of RPs that currently exist within the Writing section that are going on regardless. If it explodes for some reason and warrants its own section by pissing off the general writing section frequenters, then perhaps it will one day have its own section.

The point is that RPing is going on and that's what I wanted to begin with. If a section is created, that's just icing on this delicious cake.

I'd just like to say that I find your anecdotal story highly intriguing, Darzu. I'm very impressed that you eventually differentiated between the subject of RPing and those that you had quarrels with. If this was Serious Discussion, I'd talk you up a storm about it.

As a highly devoted roleplayer, I STRONGLY request a roleplaying realm. However, there will need to be strict and precise rules set and severe punishments for those who disobey them. Also, a separation of roleplaying genres, like fighting, romance, everyday life, ect. I'm a fighting roleplayer, so I'd love to see just who I can be up against. Roleplaying is my passion, as well as writing, the two go hand in hand.
