Pros/cons of Flat vs. Gloss?

Flat makes the part appear rough, perfect for weathering and realistic appearance, Gloss on the other hand is great for metallics or candytone finish, wouldn't recommend using this when you're building something out of the box, unless you plan on doing an enamel wash for panel lining.

Anyway, got around and had time building my XI Gundam. Demn it's big, almost as tall as the MG 1/100 Unicorn in Unicorn mode.


And nadleeh, the infamous "Gundam with hair" with an emo pilot.

The waist part of the Xi is utter shit. Gonna find a way to improve it.

@winter55 - I do agree about the waist part being awkwardly designed, however, the 1/100 counterpart is completely re-designed.

Finally done with this guy, after all the procrastination XD
This was the first time I actually painted splinters, and it wasn't very easy since I was using spray cans.

Mods made include the Zeta head, reshaped Kotobukiya thrusters/vents for the chest, and trimmed the crotch armor so that it could be attached upside down.

This thing is as heavy as heck, so I didn't even dare try to put it on an Action base. Well, the good thing is, it looks great just standing there. It's not a brick, but it's hard to pull off very dynamic poses with it.

That is one big epic kit. clean paint job and flawless execution.
I hate you :p

Daban is currently the best 3rd party kit atm. Dragon Momoko is close behind and they excel in special kits. Though they tend to use soft plastic and their kits have minor issues of their own.
