Sleep paralysis

I'm so glad there are others who are experiencing this!I have had them for a many years now. My first was when i was lying next to my ex-boyfriend in bed. He was awake staring at me, And I have my eyes open when the paralysis started. I tried to cry out and kick but he said all I was doing was staring at him then fell asleep. Other times it has felt like someone was sitting on my back making it hard to breath and would play with my hair.
I do have lucid dreams sometimes which I love. I find through sleep paralysis is the best way to get to it. What I do is whenever I'm in that position, I don't freak out. It may seem scary that you cannot breath or move, or that you may see things but you need to remember that they aren't real...so just go along with it.
Happy dreaming ;)
Your experience was like mine, I was trying to scream soooo loud but my mouth wouldn't move, then I tried rolling over and it never happened. I felt something was breathing heavily on my neck (I was alone in my room). It was without a doubt one of the scariest experiences of my life.

It can be very horrible. I find when this happens, as hard as it is...try and 'go back to sleep' or try not to resist. I find that usually helps me get past it quicker.

The first time i experienced sleep paralysis i was 9 or 10. It happened when i fell asleep on the coach for 5 minutes I felt like I was watching myself die. Next thing I knew i was on the floor, somehow throwing myself down there. Then it happened again a few months ago this time it was different though, I heard creepy voices saying what sounded like gibberish. The best thing to do though is just go back to sleep no matter how bad you don't want to.

Lucky for me its only ever happened once, but I remember I was a bit scared trying to sleep that night, and the next two nights.
Also this sounds a bit sad (im in my early 20's so its even sadder) but I was hoping I would get some super powers out of the experience never happedned unfortunatly :(

Sleep paralysis is really great, if you do it on purpose. I usually have loads of trouble sleeping and I force the sleep paralysis. good, natural, hallucinogenic dreams, hehe.

I had it once after waking up from a nightmare. Couldn't move for a few minutes. I was 7 so I naturally started to freak.

I get sleep paralysis pretty often myself.
One time, when it first started happening, I was asleep in my room when I found that I couldn't move whatsoever. I tried so hard to get up that I hallucinated that I got up but my whole body was heavy as bricks and my room was much larger than it really is.
The crazy part was, in the background I could hear "Jeremiah was a bullfrog, he was a good friend of mine..." in the background, and I kept thinking over and over again, 'I have no soul.'
Seconds before I woke up, I saw a loading screen that said something like "78% complete". It was really fucking weird.

I had one where i was in this empty and was laying in the corner and couldn't move at all. i could see a door from the corner of my eye and i tried to reach it door and escape but i couldn't move my body to do so. Then, the room turned red and the walls started to get closer to me and i desperately tried to get up and run but i couldn't. I woke up before the walls crushed me, and when i did, i was covered in sweat. Scared the shit out of me.

I think it happened to me a few times. Each time I was having a nightmare about somebody/something attacking me in my sleep, in my bedroom. My reaction was always to try screaming and blocking the attack with my arms, but I was never able to do so because I was asleep.
I'm not sure if this counts as sleep paralysis or if it's another phenomenon though, since it's only related to nightmares.

I just remembered about another one I had.
I was at a friends house, sleeping in the same bed as him(lack of sleeping places), when I found that I was having sleep paralysis again. I tried my best to move but I couldn't get free. Then, out of nowhere, I was thrown out of my own body about 10 feet away to one of his bedroom walls. I reached for my own body and tried to crawl back to the bed.
I woke up in a heavy sweat. It didnt help that his room was like 200 degrees because it was wintertime and his heater was on full blast >.>

i had my share of sleep paralysis and being awake within your dream.the only thing that scared me was "How the heck could i wake up from this dream if my mind is already awake!?!?"
Sleep paralysis is somewhat scary , heavy feeling on the body or the feeling of electricity running through your body.

I had it many times but didn't see anything, the scary one was when i sleep right in front of big mirror in the middle room. I can hear someone walking with heavy step, I thought it was my father but when I open my eyes there was no one except me. I cant move my body or speak maybe for 15 minutes. People in my place says it couse of some ghost

I don't know if this classifies as a sleep paralysis too but it happens to me. I'm kinda conscious but I can't move and my bed feels it's spinning around and I keep falling(with my bed). That usually happens when I'm having nightmares.

Someone took the title of the section quite literally...I had a sleep paralysis on the night when I first watched the original Japanese 'The Ring' movie when I was younger. Having a brief hallucination of a pale, long-haired Japanese chick sitting on top of me was not arousing at all as some of you might believe.
Haha.... oh, that wasnt funny?
