So, who's looking for a job?

Been desperately searching for about a month now and no luck. I'm beginning to think that the Irish job market has LITERALLY nothing in it that isn't filled with the Polish already. Srsly, local supermarkets. Nothing. Small shops. Nothing.
I'm actually beginning to wonder if jobs will ever be available here. Urgh.
So, who else's job search is as futile as mine?
Well, there's your problem.
Spoiler:
No but seriously i have been job hunting so far no luck, pockets getting empty D=

Dunno dude, talk to friends, and they will talk to their friends and maybe they can hook you up.
My sister knew a manager to a gas station, now im working full time graveyards (Night shifts) 11pm-7am. I only get 2 days off a week. All I do is clean the place and deal with maybe 50 people a day. Easy stuff.
Dont worry pal, you will find a job.

That would be pretty bad ass Nash. You should apply somewhere and be a grounds-keeper or something of the sort. :P

I think I'd do more harm than anything else though.
Wouldn't be too surprised if I just dug up a fresh corpse and ran for it on my first day of work.

I can see you digging one up and yelling "SOMEBODY TAKE A PICTURE QUICK!" Then having its arm wrapped around you or making some sort of high five pose lol.
+rep for making me laugh.

Applied for dozens last year. No luck. Had to go back to study so I could milk the student allowance, as depressing as that is. Probably going to start applying now in advance before study ends. Shit's hard and annoying.

I've been looking alright. (GG and myself were talking of it this morning actually. Then that prick got a job and I didn't. Dick)
There is a decent one not too far from me, third shift, $10 an hour. Mandatory overtime twice a week. Not a bad gig. Within walking distance too.
Think I'll give them a call tomorrow.
I wish I didn't have to do this at all. I was in the Navy. But I got hurt, medically seperated, etc.
That was my life's plan right there. Totally bummed me out that it didn't work.

I have a job now, but I'll be moving in a month. Happy job hunting for me. D:
The fact that you don't want to work with bumbling, lazy teenagers for several straight hours? Lol, sounds a little like pride. I hope you're in school when you say you have scheduling issues, if not, then I don't see what's keeping your schedules busy.
Also, your previous post can easily be mistaken for a prideful remark.
Actually, I understand where he's coming from. If a person is not working because of preference (this does not mean I think Tsuyaru is not working out of pure preference) while complaining about their unemployed status, then the person is slapping millions in the face who are legitimately unemployed and would grab at any job opportunity that jumped their way. Not only are they too prideful for "demeaning" job, they're probably milking others or even other hard working tax payers for being unemployed while remaining proud.

Hey, you calm the fuck down. Some people just don't want to work at a certain place. For example, I don't wanna do warehouse/factory work, so I don't apply there. Calm the hell down, jeez. If he doesn't wanna work at a McDonald's, then he keeps looking. Nothing to get all pissy about.Actually, I understand where he's coming from. I have an on-going agreement for full time employment during my summer breaks of college, good ol' carpet shampooing. Gotta pay for gas somehow while unemployed during the school year =/

I quite don't get it guys, is it so bad to choose not to work in a fastfood or to be picky about getting a job?
I mean, i'm all for Tsurayu, i wouldn't get any job just because it's a job you know?
Of course, i wouldn't be picky if i didn't have ANY money left, and it was the only job i could get, of course i'd go for it, but what i mean is, if i can get a better job, why would i accept working in a place where i would be wasting my talents? I'd rather be unemployed until i found a job that has something to do with my specializations.
For example, i'm an experienced graphic designer, i've studied for that, and worked in the area for over 4 years. Last week, i quit my job, because i don't want to be a graphic designer anymore, i'm tired of it.
Over the last year and a half i've been studying some programming languages and web design, and now, i'm looking for a job in that area. I have some money saved, enough to keep me going for a few months. I live by myself, so i have bills to pay and all that, i can't stay unemployed for too long, if i start to feel i won't be getting a job before my savings run out, i will probably go back for the graphic design area for a bit.
The point being, i still wouldn't be looking for a shitty job just to get me going, because i can easily get a better paying job than, let's say, McDonalds.
Is that really something to be harassed about?

McDonalds will pay alot for cashiers that speak english a friend of mine made $13 a hour doing back window(the hole) cashier

Is that really something to be harassed about? It's not. I totally sympathize with people who'd rather be unemployed than work a shitty job far away from home. Really do.
But you gotta see the other side. Almost NOBODY gets to do the job they'd want. Almost everybody is stuck in something other than they'd imagined, or wished for. And to those of us, it's a bit of a smack-mouth in-your-face affront if people choose to be picky about their job choice, but then go on to complain they're unemployed, or that it isn't fun anymore.

Like I said, I'm not so bad off. If I were in a desperate situation I'd have to be a food to turn down a fast food job, but it certainly isn't my first choice. It is my last choice and I'm not applying for those jobs until I become in a situation where I have no alternative.
If that is too prideful or a slap in the face to those who can't find jobs, or to those who have jobs they don't like... well, that simply isn't my problem. Don't go berating someone else looking for a job just because you are in a similar, miserable, situation.
Bottom line, I know my situation and I'm so completely unproud of it that I'm not exactly willing to share my story with everyone on Fakku. My parents have been great about it though. I still live with my dad, and at this point completely free of charge and with me doing nothing to help with the bills. That is so goddamn depressing as a twenty-two year old. I feel like I'm still five-years-old depending on my parents for everything. That doesn't exactly make me feel good.
But that doesn't mean I'm immediately going to go seek employment at a fast food restaurant - you know the long-droning hours, the lack of insurance options if any, the lack of schedule work arounds, the whiny, self-serving teenagers, etc... I still have a minute amount of personal resources left, but as it stands my parents aren't in a great situation either. This keeps up much longer, I'll be flippin' burgers whether I want to or not.

I work a shity job, but I did like it, now......., at first I liked it, the hours the pay, just after time, you get tired of it, and you want something more, I wish that I could move up, but I can't, there really aren't many jobs were you can move up and be a supervisor/shift leader/assistant manager/manager unless you've worked for years or the previous one quit. So I am just looking for a second job, pride or not I'll take what I can get, I need the money.

I completely agree. I'm in a similar situation and I just really don't feel like working at somewhere like McDonalds for similar reasons. It's not a matter of pride, it's just the fact that I don't want to work there and don't have to, so I won't. If it was a matter of me either working at McDonalds or not being able to live comfortably, I'd work there in a heartbeat, but it isn't.
