So I've stupidly not slept for roughly 14 hours now and have work in the next 4 hours, so needless to say I'm going to be dead tired and it's going to be a horrible day for me.
So I was wondering what do you guys do to fight off something like this? What's your worse experiences involving lack of sleep?
Fire away! I'm going to go and over-load myself with some coffee now.

I'm in the process of doing that right now. So far I'm 13 hours in, and have work in 6 hours - an 8 hour shift.
Just work through it, lots of caffeine. Come home, sleeeep.

Fighting it is just making you build up more exhaustion.
I recommend lotsa coffee and 12 hours of sleep after a 48 hour session.

the best thing to do, this may sounds weird, but get some excersise done, keep moving, if you run your heartbeat goes up wich gives you more energy, also eat a healthy breakfast and take a cold shower before leaving for work, it makes you feel much better, and try to stay busy, don't give yourself any time to rest cause it will only make you more tired.
and yeah, a powernap is good idea if you think you can get to sleep and if you've got the time, put your alarm clock on 45 minutes, and then go to sleep, you will feel a lot better when you wake up.
i have a slight case of insomnia so i have to do these things pretty often, it's 10:30 in the morning here and haven't slept either.
Good luck! i know how hard it can suck =/

i dont know if it's the same with others but i'm a really deep sleeper so what i do it at least sleep for 2 hours and i'm fine even if i've done 2-3 days straight and yes i know that's not healthy..
i tend to shy away from coffee and stimulants like energy drinks.. but yeah.. as others said.. once the buzz wears off you'll die.. and you cant be chugging coffee on the job.. usually..
i recommend a 2 hour powernap.. and then shower plus a light yet nutritious meal...since a heavy one will make you bloated and sluggish..
good luck!

I have a lot of experience staying up for long periods of time and my best advice is don't think about it. After about 96 hours, you'll start hallucinating, but just go with it, you're basically dreaming while you're awake. The experience is awesome, trust me. After about 4 days without sleep I started talking to a tree in my backyard and I don't remember anything afterward. My brother and his friend told me I was talking to the tree for about an hour, but I have no way of proving it. Apparently, when I was done talking to the tree, I went in my house, and I woke up 2 days later.
The best advice I can give anyone who hasn't slept in a while is ride that shit out. Interesting shit can happen.

Well if you are gonna drink a bunch of caffiene or red bull or whatever, remember to drink a lot of water so you dont dehydrate yourself - also drinking water also helps you keep awake...

Push-ups. Do ten every time you get sleepy.
That or do mental push-ups if you're really tired. Add sufficient amount of caffeine as well.

Well fuck me silly that was a difficult day, luckily I was rarely standing around with nothing to do. (although putting clothes on hangers does get pretty fucking tedious.)
However I feel very victorious, I might stay up a bit longer then realize there's no point and finally sleep.

Well, my worst experience was a few months ago when I was at a bachelor party for a friend one night, and the next night I went to a rave. I ended up not sleeping for roughly 42 hours.
Apparently, you start hallucinate after around 36 hours. Needless to say, that made the rave twice as epic, but afterward I felt awful for about 3 days. I wouldnt recommend trying that at all.
