I just installed a new heat sink and took a stab at overclocking. I believe I did everything right but when I go to system and properties it says my first core is at the stock speed of 2.53 and that the second core is overclocked at 3.16.
Did I really just overclock one core? Or is this simply what happens?
My chip is a Core 2 Duo E7200.
Thanks.

Well if you are going to overclocking I would download CPU-Z since it shows way more information. It's a handy little utility. As far as System properties I am not sure how that should look for Intel processors.

My motherboard is not receiving power, none of the LED's light up unless I unplug things.
I have an old Hiper brand 580 Watt PSU powering an abit IP35 Pro motherboard.
I came home today and the motherboard's LED error indicator was not on (it has always shown double zeroes when the computer was turned off while the motherboard was still receiving power). I tried to turn the computer on and it would not even power on, no lights, no screen nothing.
I tried turning off an external sound card I use and the LED came on to, but the computer will still not even boot.
The power supply's little red light within the on/off switch has been on this whole time, and the motherboard lights up if I unplug enough things, so I don't believe either part is completely fried, but what could be happening?
If I recall correctly, the motherboard is just under 3 years old and the PSU is 3 to 4 years old. Which one died, and could I have lost my HDD's along with them?

I doubt you lost any data on your hard drive as it sounds like its more of a power supply or motherboard issue. Theres a few things you can do to try to pinpoint the issue. First off unplug everything that plugs into the power supply as well as all peripherals except for your keyboard, monitor, and motherboard. If you are using a graphics card on a motherboard with onboard graphics then unplug the graphics card and use the onboard for now (you may need to reset CMOS to get it to work). If you have multiple fans you need to keep the one on the processor plugged in but you can unplug the rest for now. If the computer can boot into BIOS then you can start plugging in devices one by one while turning the computer on in between each until you can't boot anymore. Hopefully its just something like your USB mouse went bad.
If you do that and still have no luck then I suggest getting a power supply tester like this one either at that link or from a local computer shop. If the power supply is good then its the motherboard. If not buy a new power supply. My mothers computer has a small form factor power supply which ends up blowing a capacitor after a few years and needs replaced so it could very well just be that.

Spoiler:

Theres a few things you can do to try to pinpoint the issue.I'm sorry, I posted my query because I didn't want to have to remove the power supply from the other computer at our house and try it in the motherboard. I ended up doing exactly that, and the motherboard lit up like it wasn't with the original power supply.
I deduced that the PSU has finally croaked on me (a shame, I really liked the way it looks, when most PSU's are very drab looking or hideous with all sorts of fluorescent cables and LED fans), and ordered a brand new fancy-looking one off newegg. I expect it to arrive in the middle of this coming week, and I'll post pictures in the picture thread because it'll look great.
