The Beach or the Mountains?
What is a better vacation spot?

Curious and Wondering
I prefer the mountains. I've gone camping with various mountaineering hobby groups numerous times, and I've learned a lot. There's the satisfying rush of getting to the top of a mountain and seeing the vast splendor of nature right before your eyes.

Iceland. It's fucking great. And sunny, the sun can be up for 20-24 hour a day in the summer.

I echo sky resort. Mountains have too many bugs and annoying mosquito! How could you people lay on the ground with all that dirty shit crawling on you!?

Quite effective against bugs at night, keep em away from my zone. For mosquito, well I have no problem at all (using big sleeping bag that covers my entire body, I keep a small hole at zipper to breathe)
Funny, I don't have any sleeping problems at mountain. Sometimes I afraid of snakes but luckily, never happened.

[color=red]I guess salt disturbs the osmotic balance of the bugs. It's quite humid at the forest so there's lots of leech, slugs, and bugs around.
How much? Half of your palm and make a circle around your sleeping zone.

I live in Toronto which is right beside the lake so I can go to a beach anytime and thus is no good for a vacation. Never been to a mountain, so when I go on a vacation out of the city its either to another city (usually Montreal) or out to a cottage in the woods.

The mountains, in the middle of winter, In Wales. Cold but beautiful

ahh this is a tough one. I currently live at the beach and I've never really been bored here, theres so much to do so you rarely get bored here. I've only vacationed in the mountains a couple times, its been fun but its not quite my cup of tea. So I guess my vote goes for the beach.
I love to go to the beaches in the Bahamas and other countries. Nothing beats the clear skies, clear water, a cold beer, and beach babes of course!

I like hiking and camping overnight in the mountains, but since you're talking about vacations specifically, I think I'd rather hit the beach.

I'm not big on hot weather, sand getting all on you and sunburns. Also been to the beach more times than the mountains but find it more appealing than the beach. Definitely not as much people and I like adventuring. And I like camping and stargazing because its just peaceful.
Only concerns that I would be having would be irritating bugs and wild animals that would eat my face off.

Mountains are OK but I've got too many good memories on the beach and I never get tire of going there. I love the sound of the ocean and heat of the sun.
But honestly I'd like to go to a desert. It sounds weird but as long as I had enough water I think the scenery and night skies are beautiful.

Wow I must be really perverted to think that when I saw your topic title I thought you were talking about breast.
Anyways I would go to the beach. You can't see hot/cute girls on the mountain much and not in their bikini. Though if I'm in the mood for an adventure then the mountains. There's not much adventuring to do in the beach.

I've never been to any mountains, but it beats going to a beach infested with guidos. Unless I go out of state I guess.
