The matrix vs Back to the future
Which is the better trilogy?

These are (to me) 2 of the most entertaining trilogy's ever created. Both have great, unique and immerssive story lines, great characters, great acting, and great soundtracks.
The matrix trilogy:

And some of the songs I thought were awesome:
Back to the future trilogy:

Some of my favorite songs:
I think the best "Back to the future" movie was the first because it was the easiest one I could relate to (as I'm sure is the case for many of you). I mean
I also give the edge to the BTTF soundtrack, simply because there were more songs that I liked then the ones in the matrix trilogy. I'm also not a very huge fan of techno music :(
But overall, I personally love the Matrix trilogy more, due to it's entertaining action sequences;
-car chases
-gun fights
-CQC fights
-special effects
and it's twisted storyline of dark post-apocalyptic world. Oh, and the actor who played Agent Smith. My favorite actor in the whole trilogy.

Matrix one was a landmark in movie production. Too bad movies 2 and 3 sucked in comparison. BTTF by faar.
Also if you want to talk about great or the greatest trilogy's of all time, lets start out with LOTR and The Godfather.

Good question. But having seen both many, many times. I just love the BTTF more.
There are so many good lines and little nuances in the trilogy (1.21 Jiggwatts!)
So yeah.

Ha ha, true.
"Hey Mcfly, I thought I told you NEVER to come in here"
or
"Mom....is that you?
- There there now, your safe and sound now back in the good ol..."

Ha, "Now make like a tree, and get outta here."
Good 'ole Biff.
I really did like Revolutions though. Badass huge fights in Zion. Pretty sweet if you ask me.

Matrix was one story broken in to three movies. back to the future was one original movie, followed by to attempts to see how much more money they could rape out of it.
that's how i see it anyway.

Actually, Matrix WAS attented to be a stand alone because the Wachowski brothers wanted to give a bleek future for the viewer, they never attended to make a trilogy.
So you can say that both series were milking money.

i like back to the future for the comedy and the actors, The Matrix was just too cheesy and to choppy i think.

I never said you were wrong :)
I like the first Matrix because they had a answer to every question even though the answers are vague. While the other two had more questions and never even atempeted to answer them.
For example
"What should I do?"
"Why should you ask when you already decided"

The first movie of both trilogy's were the best I think. I've explained why I love BTTF 1 in my first post. As for the matrix, I only first watched the trilogy somewhere in 2007.
I realized then that I had missed out on quite an entertaining trilogy.
I remember as I was about to watch the first matrix, all the trailers, parody's (Scary movie, mostly), I kept wondering
"What was all the excitement and talk about? Why do people love this movie/love to make fun of it?"
After watching it, I was very eager to pop-in the 2nd movie. The one thing I wanted to see more of was.....Smith.
To me, he "stole the show". He was the most captivating and amusing actor out of every other character in the trilogy.
Some of my favorite moments

Same here. I hoping that back to the future won't get a remake. BTTF trilogy taught me that even though with time travel, we could fix a ton of mistakes; fuckin with time will be our greatest mistake ever!
