Which is the better trilogy?

of those two trilogys, back to the future is my favorite. but neither is my favorite trilogy overall. I prefer the original Starwars trilogy and Lord of the Rings. but thats just me.

The Matrix sequels sucked because the first Matrix was not a film which could be built upon. The Wachowski brothers tried to do the same thing only bigger in the sequels, whereas the first film had succeeded because it was doing something different (at least in the American filmscape, supposedly it ripped off numerous Asian action/sci-fi movie tropes).
The Wachowski Bros. also did a shitty job of throwing in random pseudo-philosophical dialogue that didn't add to the story in the sequels. The characters just sort of threw out philosophical "insight" and you were supposed to be amazed that the WB figured that shit out, big whoop.
The first BTTF worked because it was funny, it had character, and it was sort-of satirizing, sort-of paying tribute to, and almost sort of documenting America in the 1950's.
The second BTTF worked for some people because it traded the 1950's for futuristic elements, again, it was sort of honoring and sort of making fun of the notion that in the not-so-distant future we'll have numerous fantastical and amazing inventions which make our lives easier (technically speaking, that outlook on the future is a 1950's way of thinking). It also dabbled in some more serious dystopian current-day sort of stuff. Personally speaking I really liked EVERYTHING about the second Back To The Future, but because it was a sequel, it still had the tinge of been-there-done-that.
The third BTTF was just rediculous, but it still had the characters people knew and loved, it still had some of the same style of humor, and I think a flying, time-travelling locomotive is pretty fuckin' cool.
I don't really like comparing them because they're apples and oranges, but the best single movie is the original Matrix, the better trilogy is BTTF.
People are throwing in other trilogies, I coulda sworn nobody mentioned Star Wars, what the fuck?

I never really got into the matrix due it kind of got overrated and dull after the first one.
BTTF kept me going as it lead from the first all the way to the third. If they piled all 3 onto one disc I would be soo happy.
The cheesy lines to the awesome comedy of all the actors kept me going and I was never bored.
The Matrix 2 and 3 I fell asleep to.

I think I've watched back to the future before...but remember so very little of it.
So I'll choose the Matrix, it's not a very good trilogy in my eyes, the first movie was very good but the last two just pointlessly complicated things, god knows how many times I had to watch them to figure out what the fuck was going on and what that old man in the suit was talking about.
