I went to see this movie solely because it was based on a Steven King story... and because the trailer reminded me of the glorious B-movie, Dreamcatcher(also King yes, XD)
I loved it, BUT because my dad whined like a little bitch about the ending(yes depressing)he kinda ruined my post-movie buzz...-_- But I still love it. Got it on DVD. Thomas Jane is truly a GOD among men. (The Punisher is feckin' awesome.)
I'm aware its not the best movie it the world though. Its simply a decent B-movie shooting above its game :).

My favourite part of the whole movie is when Ollie Weeks says "As a species, we're fundamentally insane. Put more than two of us in a room, we pick sides and start dreaming up reasons to kill one another. Why do you think we invented politics and religion?" Epic thing to say when surrounded by Christians.
Oh and yeah close second is

Clever, scary, creative film

But then again I haven't read most of his novels...

Well just finished watching it, and yes it was a VERY good movie, i wasn't really to shocked by the ending(basic Stephen King ending, leaving most questions unanswered) but thats fine the rest is up to our imagination

I don't think it ended the way Stephen King wrote it to be, but yeah, it was an interesting twist and very much unexpected. I find it cool how the lady who went outside to look for her son ended up being one of the few who survived.
I think the scariest aspect about it is the mentality developed throughout such a situation, though.

Lol, just as planned.
Ahem, from what I've heard, the book and movie endings are different.
(surprise, surprise)

It's a okay movie. The ending sucked. Because the music who plays over it, it's trying to be big and epic. I saw the ending coming from a mile away.
[/spoil]Think about the town had an army base, so it's mutter of time they take control of the town.
One thing, the part the crazy Bible lady dies was cool.

I'm going to watch it again because it has been long enough. I wish I had one of those Nerf assault rifles so I could shoot my TV when that religious bitch was on.

No the book and the movie did end differently , but King later said he honestly enjoyed the ending to the movie version more to the one presented in his short story.
