The Most Disappointing Gundam Series
0
I'd like to hear your thoughts on what is the most disappointing Gundam series to have ever been produced. When you pick which is the worst one, I want a reason why. Don't just say, "This Gundam series sucks" and leave it at that. Give what you thought what made a series bad.
And the reason why this isn't in Anime Discussion is because I don't want this to be buried under more popular threads.

I meant Gundam series not the actually Gundam mobile suit.
For example: "I hate Gundam SEED Destiny because..."

G gundam...just the designs itself shows how bad the series was. This was when I decided to watch Zoids instead.

I despise the Gundam Seed series because the mecha construction of the mobile suits were not shown. It's like they just want you to believe it moves because we told you it will. With the Tomino directed series you see the actual mechanics that are involved in piloting a Gundam, a perfect example of this is the first episode of "Mobile Suit Gundam."
Another thing that the Gundam Seed series left me disappointed was the plot scenes that were copied from previous Gundam series, no originalty!? Examples of scenes that were copied. Mobile Suit Gundam (intro), Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory ( Desert training and desert combat), Gundam Zeta (Battle between top class cruisers, specifically the Londo Bell), and etc.

~aah, sorry.I hate gundam seed destiny because the Zaft is not change(the bad guy),the cause of story is not change from G.seed(stealing gundam),and the main hero is still with zaft untill the end of story~

I really hate disappointed for the series called "Gundam SEED Destiny" Yeah I know it's an old story, inb4 UC Fags, SEED-haters and yadda, yadda thing.
Reason? It's like a re-cap of the previous Gundam SEED with same development with more bishie/pretty cast and mecha and more of so-called "homage" from older UC series gundam. That's what made it fail so HARD in my eyes.
Though I owe a character named "Shinn Asuka" in Destiny for some Cagalli-bashing moment and destroying Freedom Gundam. And it's a shame because he's downgraded to being big bad boss underling in the end rather than being consistently developed and matured as main character in Destiny. Destiny also makes me dislike Kira because he hijacked Shinn's position as main character.
Do I hate the previous SEED? Not really, I'd say it's watchable and okay, but honestly it's boring to me. Why? Because as Jonoe said above, SEED is using plot from previous gundam series, and I already watched all of those gundam series which make me can read the flow of SEED's storyline somehow, that cuts half of my fun watching SEED.

I can only really talk about those I've seen, but yeah, Destiny for me as well. My main problem isn't even one of the various things mostly pointed out. Rather, it's how FAITH has been handled in the series. At first it's explained that FAITH members can pretty much do what they want if they believe it's in the best interest of their people. So how come Athrun is suddenly considered a traitor for some individual research into the backgrounds of the fighting, when his status as a FAITH member actually allows this? Similarly, Talia disappoints me as well, although in her case her attachment to Gilbert explains things a bit. As another FAITH member she could have changed the course of the series as well, especially after being told at the beginning of the series that the Minerva was expected to become the new Archangel...

i would say that Gundam Seed Destiny
This series lacks imagination.
i mean Rau Le Cruese's Gundam is not that good enough or should i say it lacks this evil(wow) appearance. also i think that and this raider gundam dont they have a better place for the cannon to put it in?
This series is kinda boring.
It's not that i hate the seed series. but i think they should just polish thier story a little bit and design better gundams.

Never liked the Seed Series except for Astray but Destiny just makes me really angry. It have a much more better start than Seed, at the first episode seeing Shin loses his sister kinda makes me sympathizes with his character so I kinda understand why he always in rage mode most of the time but I really like it, I find that Shin is a pretty unique main character and I love it every time he go raging mode until halfway when they decided to bring Kira back in the story. Ok Kira returning isn't that bad I can see it as a service to the fangirls and fanboys but him stealing the show from Shinn is really unforgivable and it really annoys me so hard that I'm screaming inside "WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DO THAT!!!". Amuro didn't steal the show from Kamille and still remains awesome but in Seed Destiny they have to bring in Kira Yamato, give him God Mode and in the process destroy Shinn Asuka's character demoting him to some sort of angsty villain. Even worst he got defeated by a kick from Infinite Justice. C'mon its Gundam Seed DESTINY, why the hell the so called Destiny Gundam got beaten?! I have never seen other gundam series did this. I nearly lost faith in the new generation Gundam series. Good thing that Gundam 00 came up, it restored my faith in the new generation Gundam series again.

That first episode was absolutely perfect and in my opinion, easily destroys more than a 1/6 of SEED Destiny.

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
The SEEDs.
I mean, my main problem is that prety much every other episode there was a brand fuckin' new super-secret-awesome gundam.
They're not that great if there are fifteen other ones running around, all of them less than a week old to boot.

The most ... I can't decided between SEED Destiny and Turn A
But it will be SEED Destiny. Because:
1. the main protagonist character suddenly change from Shinn to Kira.
2. Archangel's side looks win so easily.
3. over 'miracle' of cheating death (Mu->Neo, and Kira for 2nd time)

Destiny because of several reasons
-Kira is uber hax because of plot armor and i hate him
-using same battle animation over and over again
-Athrun is useless(even though he is my favourite char)
but i like the mecha designs

That's called revenge. Just like Jerrid always try to kill Camille.
And, it's no difference between Amuro and Char either, blaming each other for Lalah's death. Take long time to finish it (UC 0079-0093)

I don't hate him since he wants revenge and all, I just could not stand to bear his attitude after watching the series for a third time when I had nothing to do. His stupid narrow-mindedness just makes me want to rip him to shreds. There were so many times while rewatching I just yelled out baka and shine to him -_- (ya I know something must be wrong with me...)

Like most of the posts here, Gundam Seed Destiny, but I do have other reasons.
Main reason I hated Destiny was because it was a rush job. Not too much going on in the character development area, and thinking they could squeeze the show in the same length as Seed. Another reason, the mechs. Fucking Impulse was a damn near carbon copy of the Strike, only upgraded. Even though Zeta and Double Zeta kinda had the same thing going, once again, Double Zeta was once again, a superior upgrade, while not sharing the same damn look. The mech hatred goes into when the pilots get new suits, and they are basically broken, overpowered pieces of crap. Honestly, I think the only mech I really liked from that show, was the Destroy Gundam, because it reminded me so much of the Psycho Gundam. And the first time it was deployed, it was kicking ass and taking names, until fucking Jesus Yamato was all "Yargh" and took out one of the cannons with the damn beam saber. But of course, Shinn is also at blame for this. But afterwords, the Destroy Gundams became nothing more than cannon fodder.
And going off topic a bit, why the hell is it so hard for Bandai to come up with a 1/144 HG Destroy Gundam, huh? Thye have a damn 1/60 NG Force Impulse, but nowhere is there a 1/144 Destroy Gundam. That would be a bitching model to put together!
